Honestly, we weren't impressed. The place needed a proper clean inside and out - the windows were filthy and some repairs could really boost the look. The listing said 2 bathrooms, but only one had a shower, which was a bit of a letdown. The second bathroom should really have a shower over the bath or just a shower. The equipment was also a bit stingy; only 2 dishwasher tablets for a week isn't enough. Plus, no vacuum meant it was tough managing with 4 adults and 3 dogs - quite inadequate for a holiday!

We recently stayed as a family of four, including our dogand honestly, it was pretty great value for money. The lodge was in excellent condition and had all the essentials we needed. The location worked well for us, though it was about a 20-30 minute drive to most places. The views from the lodge and the hot tub were absolutely stunning, which made the stay really special. If you don't mind a bit of travel, it's a lovely spot!

There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings. Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast". There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga. As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
