Iconic natural landmarks abound nearby, including Durdle Door (5 miles) and Lulworth Cove (5.5 miles) which you can easily walk to. History buffs will adore exploring the Jordan Hill Roman Temple (4 miles).

The vibrant seaside town of Weymouth (7 miles) is home to sandy beaches, a crescent-shaped bay and Jurassic Skyline. From here, head to the Isle of Portland (13.5 miles) for more excellent walks and rock climbing.

Looking inland, Lulworth Castle (13 miles) and Dorchester (8.5 miles) are well worth a visit – especially if you're a Thomas Hardy fan. Stop by Max Gate, his former home, or venture to his birthplace in Higher Bockhampton (10 miles).
