Gold Award Winner for Best on the South Coast 2023. The Coach House is a lovingly restored 200yr old, reverse level coach house in White Lackington near Piddletrenthide, Dorset.
Surrounded by countryside with easy access to the Jurassic Coast, this lovely abode offers three guests everything they need for a self-catering holiday in Dorset, including private parking for two cars, a private courtyard, and excellent amenities. The ground floor hosts two thoughtfully appointed bedrooms, a double and a small double along with a pristine bathroom finished with Villeroy and Bosch tiled walls, mosaic floors, and a walk-in shower.
Freshen up and relax after your coastal adventure, before climbing the stairs to the living areas. Locate the shaker-style kitchen, a bright and cheerful space to rustle up your favourite home-cooked meals using the electric oven, induction hob and microwave.
Serve your suppers around the table for four in the living/dining room or perhaps you'd prefer to dine outside in the evening sun? An oak stable door leads to the courtyard, a private, south-facing, secluded garden with rattan furniture to enjoy the sunshine all day long.
After dinner, load up the integrated dishwasher, throw your sandy towels into the washer/dryer, and retire to the sitting area with cushioned seating and a flatscreen TV with Roku streaming media player; choose your favourite film and unwind by the gentle warmth of the woodburning stove. Start your holiday by exploring your local surroundings where the village of Piddletrenthide is nearby with a village shop and The Poachers Inn, whilst The Thimble Inn gastropub is close to The Coach House when you fancy a break from the kitchen.
There are plenty of attractions a short drive away including the Tudor mansion of Athelhampton House & Gardens in Puddletown, the curious National Trust landmark of the Cerne Giant, and Badger Watch Dorset, where you can spot a variety of local wildlife. Alternatively, spend the day in the town of Dorchester with so much on offer; Borough Gardens, Dorset Museum, and Max Gate, the former home of author and poet Thomas Hardy, are all worth a visit.
