About The Old Forge Uploders

In the picturesque village of Uploders, this semi-detached, stone cottage blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Situated on a quiet village lane, you will be able to enjoy the tranquillity from the large, terraced garden whilst appreciating the far-reaching views of the Dorset countryside.

There are footpaths to explore from the doorstep and the area is good for keen cyclists. There is a village pub within 100 metres, a shop within 2 miles and you are only 1.5 miles from the A35, which provides easy access to the rest of Dorset.

Go south for the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, west to find the popular seaside town of Lyme Regis (13 miles), and east for the unique Chesil Beach (18 miles) and the seaside town of Weymouth (21 miles). Stepping into the property, you will find yourself in a spacious and welcoming hallway.

Leading off from here, is the L-shaped open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area where there is room for all the family to enjoy. The décor is an eclectic mix of traditional furniture and modern touches, creating a welcoming, homely feel.

The modest kitchen has everything you’ll need to create a meal for everyone and there is plenty of seating around the dining table for those special, family meals. Moving around to the lounge area, it is split into two, providing a second area for people who want a quiet moment with a book or crossword, but don’t want to miss out on the action.

The main lounge area has a wood burner for those cosy, cold evenings and a Smart TV. And for those hot, summer days, French doors lead out to the patio and garden.

There is also a separate WC downstairs adjacent to the utility room, which has a washing machine and a sink, with a stable door leading out to the garden. The first floor of the cottage is very spacious with four good-sized bedrooms.

Emma Carter
We had a fantastic stay at the cottage! Everything was thought of, from the fully stocked kitchen to the lovely BBQ shed. The garden views really are breathtaking and made relaxing so easy. Parking right outside was a bonusand the place was spotless, with clear info on everything. Bridport is just a short drive away for shoppingand the local pub serves up a cracking meal. Emma was super helpful and really made us feel welcome. We'd definitely come back!

Staying here felt like being a guest in a charming, well-loved home. The description and photos are spot on. The host's attention to detail was impressive, even calling after check-in to make sure all was good. The location is stunning, with loads to explore nearby. Definitely worth recommending for a relaxing getaway!

This holiday home in stunning Dorset is just perfect! The facilities have everything we neededand the garden is simply lovely for relaxing and hanging out with friends. The owner's care was excellent. We can't wait to return! Thank you once again!

This cottage is just lovely! It's really well furnished and equipped, plus the patio and terraced rear garden with hot tub are beautiful. We were impressed with how ready it was for our arrival. The location is spot on too, just 100 metres away from a friendly pub that does excellent foodand Weymouth is not far to the east. The Jurassic coast, including Charmouth and Lyme Regis, is just a short drive to the west. We'd absolutely recommend it and would be more than happy to stay there again ourselves!

Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - DT1 1JU
about 11 Miles
This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park - DT2 8PY
about 13 Miles
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
Monkey World - BH20 6HH
about 21 Miles
Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
Bicton Park and Gardens - EX9 7BJ
about 27 Miles
This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
