One of an exclusive collection of handsome holiday properties on the owner’s farm, this striking stone residence is just half a mile from the village inn at West Pennard. Right on the doorstep, a small farm shop stocks essential supplies, while the range of independent stores, inns and eateries in nearby Glastonbury is sure to satisfy every appetite.
Look across the fields from your back garden and you’ll see the iconic Glastonbury Tor (2.5 miles away); it’s famous for the roofless 15th-century St Michael’s Tower on its summit and its panoramic views of the Somerset Levels. Other must-see sites include the cathedral city of Wells (9 miles) and, on the edge of the Mendip Hills National Landscape, Cheddar Gorge (16.5 miles).
For a breath of sea air, Burnham-on-Sea (20 miles) has one of the longest sandy beaches in Europe, plus attractions to amuse all ages. Step through the porchway into the hall, and to your left the lounge has a selection of soft seating arranged before the wood burner and Smart TV.
French doors open onto the front garden, while an arch on the other side of the room leads through to the kitchen/diner. A feature Aga adds authenticity to the farmhouse setting, but you’ll create self-catered masterpieces on a more contemporary electric cooker.
Gather everyone at the central dining table and the conversations will continue long after the last plate has been cleared. In the games room, there’s a pool table which can convert into a dining table and Smart TV for after-dinner entertainment.
A handy utility room and separate shower room complete the ground-floor layout. Head upstairs and you’ll find four bright and airy bedrooms, each with its own TV.
Welcome to Beulah, Southcroft Farm, a stylish timber glamping pod located on the outskirts of Axbridge, Somerset. This bespoke accommodation sleeps two people, making it the perfect romantic retreat for couples.
