About Chestnut Lodge

Nestled within the New Oaks Farm Lodges development and just 7 miles from Glastonbury, it provides a relaxing base from which to explore the county's charming market towns, historic attractions and rural landscapes.

The historic city of Wells, renowned for its magnificent cathedral and regular outdoor markets, is 15 miles away, while the famous Wookey Hole Caves are 17 miles from the property. Golfers can enjoy a round at Wheathill Golf Club (2 miles), which features an 18-hole course and driving range open to visitors.

Traditional Somerset pubs, including The Quarry Inn and Cross Keys Inn, can be found nearby, while attractions such as the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Clarks Village shopping outlet and Harry's Cider Farm are all within easy driving distance. Inside, the lodge offers comfortable open-plan living, designed with relaxation in mind.

The bright lounge area enjoys views across the countryside and opens onto the patio through French doors, creating a light and welcoming space throughout the day. A Bluetooth sound system and Wi-Fi are provided, while the adjoining galley-style kitchen is equipped with a built-in dishwasher and everything needed for preparing meals during your stay.

The king-size bedroom provides a luxurious and romantic retreat, complete with a Freeview TV and DVD player. Adding a touch of indulgence, a freestanding bath is positioned within the bedroom itself, ideal for long soaks after a day exploring Somerset.

Directly off the bedroom is a spacious en-suite featuring a walk-in shower, double sinks and a WC. Outside, an enclosed patio garden is furnished for outdoor dining and relaxation while taking in views over the surrounding farmland.

Longleat Safari and Adventure Park - BA12 7NW

You may have seen this amazing attraction on the BBC1 Animal Park programme.  This is actually the first safari park outside of Africa where you can get close to the animals from the comfort of your own car. Some of the highlights include the zebras, the wallabies in wallaby wood and the sea lion escorted cruise to Gorilla Island.  And of course the magnificent lions and tigers are a must see.  This really is an animal experience with a difference and you can save money by booking your tickets online.  This attraction is open until the end of October. This wonderful attraction in Gloucestershire will appeal to animal lovers as you will have the chance to see the fantastic work going on and meet the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys.  This place is funded entirely through public donations and they rely on these vital funds.  Kids will love the play barn and straw den where they can run off some energy.  New for 2010 is the Aerial Runway with Jungle Climber.

Highlights include the giant octopus and the cute seahorses. The IMAX 3D cinema system is fantastic - you will feel like you are swimming along with the animals.
Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - DT1 1JU

This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
