Burnham-on-Sea (22 miles) has one of the longest sandy beaches in Europe and attractions to amuse all ages, or visit Tudor Barrington Court (9 miles), Elizabethan Montacute House (11 miles) and the Fleet Air Arm Museum (9 miles). With far-reaching country views to the rear, this striking residence presents the perfect mix of modern living and rural charm.

A utility room welcomes you inside, through a door to the right is the first of the five bedrooms a double room, ideal for anyone wanting the flexibility of single-storey living, to the left there’s a handy cloakroom with WC. A second door to the left of the utility opens into a light-filled kitchen/breakfast room, with contemporary country-style cabinets, bar-style seating at a central island unit, and doors onto the garden.

Adjacent, the dining room has dual-aspect windows, more doors onto the garden, and leads into a gorgeous reception room which can also be accessed directly from the utility room. An efficient ground source heat pump ensures warmth at any time of year, but for added ambience after dark, fire up the wood burner, switch on the Smart TV and enjoy some home-from-home entertainment.

The site is packed with marine life from all over the world and has an amazing Underwater tunnel where visitors can view Sharks and Sting Rays There are also several open top displays  allowing closer inspection of the elegant Rays as well as other creatures. Special events take place throughout the year in high season including talks and crafting sessions.
Longleat Safari and Adventure Park - BA12 7NW

You may have seen this amazing attraction on the BBC1 Animal Park programme.  This is actually the first safari park outside of Africa where you can get close to the animals from the comfort of your own car. Some of the highlights include the zebras, the wallabies in wallaby wood and the sea lion escorted cruise to Gorilla Island.  And of course the magnificent lions and tigers are a must see.  This really is an animal experience with a difference and you can save money by booking your tickets online.  This attraction is open until the end of October. Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - DT1 1JU

This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Horseworld - BS37 8QZ

This wonderful attraction in Gloucestershire will appeal to animal lovers as you will have the chance to see the fantastic work going on and meet the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys.  This place is funded entirely through public donations and they rely on these vital funds.  Kids will love the play barn and straw den where they can run off some energy.  New for 2010 is the Aerial Runway with Jungle Climber.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park - DT2 8PY

Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
Bristol Aquarium - BS1 5TT

The Blue Reef Aquarium and IMAX 3D Cinema is located in Bristol and makes a great fun family day out.  The newest attraction in the region it's an experience not to be missed.  More than 7000 animals are resident in naturally themed habitats and you can enjoy wandering around looking at the 40 displays. Highlights include the giant octopus and the cute seahorses. The IMAX 3D cinema system is fantastic - you will feel like you are swimming along with the animals.
