The Exmoor National Park Centre has plenty of activities, whatever the weather for the whole family. Endless walks are available directly from the property with options of quiet lanes, bridleways, and footpaths, it is also set on the National Cycle Route.
A 3-mile drive takes you to Dulverton and the village of Bampton where you will find bespoke shops, eateries, and pubs. For those looking for more hustle and bustle, the seaside town of Minehead is 18 miles and offers a range of shops, attractions, and a sandy beach, or Tiverton is 11 miles.
Wimbleball Lake offers activities for all ages, including dinghy sailing, paddle boarding, windsurfing or a circular walk around the lake. Bickleigh Mill ( 11 miles ) is where you will find the Devon Model Railway for a fun day out, then pop into Bickleigh Mill for food and gifts.
Other places of interest in the area include the medieval village of Dunster (15 miles) with it's castle and pretty streets full of shops and eateries. For adventuring in the surf, travel an hour to the award winning Woolacombe beach or Braunton Sands, where you can hire surf boards and have lessons.
