The place is really special, set in its own little 60-acre valley - quite a find! There’s a real touch of luxury everywhere, from chilled bottles of fizz in the fridge to soft, quality linens. The layout’s perfect for family holidays with different staircases for upstairs rooms and a downstairs bedroom. Kids loved the outdoor gamesand the gamesroom, hot tuband swimming lake kept everyone entertained for ages. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave! Definitely a place to return to.

We had such a lovely week here as a large family. The way the indoor and outdoor areas flow together really makes it special, especially with that stunning view from the terrace. The kids, aged 9, 9and 12, had a blast paddleboarding at the lake every day and enjoyed the games room immensely. We also took a walk up to the stag sculpture, relaxed in the hot tuband even spotted a kingfisher at the lake. Honestly, it was hard to top that week!

Honestly, this place is fantastic. It’s pretty hard to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes, but this property does. The location is stunning, with loads of outdoor space all to ourselves - we loved the view of the stag on the hill! Inside, it’s super stylishand we wondered if interior designers had a hand in it or if the owners just have a great eye. The hot tub and games room were a hit, plus there’s ample seating indoors and out. The welcome drinks were a sweet touch too. We’d definitely come back!

We recently stayed here for a week with a group of friends in our 60sand honestly, it was great. The house itself was really comfortableand we loved making the most of the hot tub and games room. The kitchen was super well-equipped, with two full-length fridges and a separate freezer in the utility - plenty of mugs, platesand bowls. A few of us even dipped into the lake, though not for too long! Plus, the village of Dreadfulverton is just a short driveand day trips to Dunster Castle, Knighthayesand Sidmouth made the trip even better. We had a brilliant time!

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
