This countryside retreat for two is in the West Wales village of Mydroilyn, 4 miles from the bustling town of Lampeter. Enjoy tranquil walks directly from the property, or journey further afield to explore the woodland tracks at Brechfa Forest (17 miles) or the wildlife trails at Cors Caron National Nature Reserve (21 miles). For a day at the seaside, journey north to explore the colourful coastal town of Aberaeron (7. 5 miles). The town has a great range of independent shops and boutiques to potter around, as well as an excellent collection of pubs and restaurants. The university town of Lampeter also has a good selection of independent shops, and hosts regular farmers’ markets where you can pick up delicious local produce for your supper.

For a day at the seaside, journey north to explore the colourful coastal town of Aberaeron (7.5 miles). The town has a great range of independent shops and boutiques to potter around, as well as an excellent collection of pubs and restaurants.

The university town of Lampeter also has a good selection of independent shops, and hosts regular farmers’ markets where you can pick up delicious local produce for your supper. For boat trips and sea safaris, head to the quaint fishing village of New Quay (7 miles).

Enter the stone cottage into the bright and inviting lounge/diner, which is decorated in a contemporary style and features a plush, L-shaped sofa set in front of a Smart TV and warming wood burner. Nestled under the window is a chic dining table for sharing mealtimes.

Just off the lounge/diner is a refreshing shower room, and down a few steps, you’ll find the kitchen, which is equipped with everything needed for a successful self-catering getaway. There’s also a central island where you can sip a morning coffee as you plan your day.

Upstairs, set under a sloping ceiling in the eaves, is a cosy twin bedroom with an en-suite WC. Please note, the bedroom has restricted head height in some areas.

Outside, soak up the sunshine in your private patio garden, where you’ll find furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the on-site spa facilities and indoor swimming pool (additional charges apply) and meet the local farm animals.

Lampeter 2 miles. Set on a hillside, in the village of Pentrebach near Lampeter, this former farmhouse enjoys far-reaching south-facing countryside views. Once off the main road and on a 'no through' road, you will pass two houses on your way up to the property and then only come across the local farm traffic thereafter.

Merlin Hill Centre - SA67 8BP

Merlin Hill Centre is a working dairy farm located deep in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Although not a petting farm the farm is still very family friendly with plenty of fun activities to keep children happy. The farm has a good sized play area and plenty of picnic tables as well as a Farmyard Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Welsh farm life and about the mystical Legend of Merlin. Get there early if you want to watch the cows being milked!
Dinefwr Park and Castle - SA19 6RT

Dinefwr Park and Castle is the perfect place to come if you like the great outdoors. These stunning ruins are one of the areas most iconic landmarks and are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife of all descriptions. There is also a 17th century mansion to explore with grand rooms and wonderful exhibits of paintings and tapestries. The gardens feature amazing floral displays and there is also a delightful Tea Room. Children can let of steam on the adventure playground.

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
Dyfi Discoveries - SY20 8TA
