Located on the southern fringes of Snowdonia, or Eryri, it is perfect for those who love hiking and ideal for climbing Foel Benddin. The market town of Machynlleth, with its famous Museum of Modern Art, is 13 miles away, while Dolgellau, 10 miles away, is known as the starting point for climbing dramatic Cader Idris.

The picturesque Mawddach Trail also begins in Dolgellau and runs for 9.5 miles to Barmouth, along the southern edge of the Mawddach Estuary. Plan a day at the coast, venturing 19 miles to the spectacular beach at Fairbourne or 20 miles to the stretching golden sands of bustling Barmouth.

Visit the Dyfi Wildlife Centre, 16 miles away, to see the ospreys. Entice yourselves away from the spectacular scenery and step into the welcoming cottage.

Hang your jackets and slide off your boots before making yourselves at home in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its toasty underfloor heating. Find everything you need in the modern kitchen to help you conjure up feasts for your friends or family.

Llangollen Wharf is one of the major attractions in North Wales and is an excellent place to spend the day as a family. The Wharf is situated in the peaceful market town of Llangollen - now part of a World Heritage Site. Horse Drawn Boat Trips are available along the feeder for the main canal and are a unique way to explore the area. Motorised Aqueduct Cruises are also on offer for those who prefer a slightly faster pace. Both trips allow visitors to take in all the magnificent sites of Llangollen Canal.
