About Dove Lodge

Escape reality and take refuge in nature at this tranquil safari-style lodge with a private wood-fired hot tub, tucked away on the owners working farm at the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park; countryside exploring doesn’t get more peaceful and authentic than this. After exploring your unspoilt rural surroundings, follow the inviting warmth of the wood burner into the open-plan living/kitchen/dining room and hunker down on the comfy corner sofa amongst the earthy colour palette that perfectly reflects the green scenery that surrounds you.

Feed hungry tummies by rustling up a delicious locally sourced feast in the kitchen to be enjoyed around the generous wooden dining table. Before bedtime, wash off the day in the unique ‘Pitch Pod’ shower room outside before retiring to the rustic double cabin bed in the main open-plan room, or head through the tent-style sheeting to find a further two separate bedrooms.

Outside, roast marshmallows over the fire pit, dine alfresco on the covered decking or take a long soak in the wood-fire hot tub. Before sunset, join the owner for a tour of the surrounding farmland to spot the resident cattle.

The sleepy village of Talybont-on-Usk nestled along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, 1 mile from the River Usk in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, is a playground for outdoor activities. Explore the village on foot or two wheels and keep your eyes peeled for a plethora of wildlife in and around the village.

Make unforgettable memories strolling along the canal or cycling the 6-mile track around the largest still water reservoir in the central Brecon Beacons, The Talybont Reservoir 3.5 miles away. Head to nearby Brecon (7 miles) or Abergavenny (14.5 miles) to grab some fabulous local produce and soak up the unspoilt scenery of the Black Mountains.
