The nearby town of Brecon boasts a vibrant cultural scene with its museum, festivals, theatre, and canal, while the Black Mountains offer endless opportunities for adventure, from scenic walking trails and pony trekking to wild swimming in tranquil waters. Further afield, explore the fascinating National Showcaves at Dan-yr-Ogof (14 miles).

Walk through a picturesque meadow with sweeping views of Pen-y-Fan before reaching the enchanting burrow. Surrounded by thoughtfully landscaped gardens, the hut welcomes you with a covered porch for storing coats and boots.

Inside, the open-plan design offers a cosy and inviting space, complete with a generously sized sofa and TV for relaxation. The well-equipped kitchen area is perfect for preparing meals, while the king-size solid wood bed with soft linens ensures a restful night's sleep.

Ample built-in storage is available for clothes and shoes, and the shower room includes a large walk-in shower. A communal utility room with a washing machine is also on hand.

Outside, you'll find a table and chairs for alfresco dining, a wood-fired hot tub (with logs included), and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows under the stars. A communal area within the meadow provides additional space for relaxation, and bike storage is available at the main house, 200 meters away.

Cantref Adventure Farm - LD3 8LR

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.
Dinefwr Park and Castle - SA19 6RT

Dinefwr Park and Castle is the perfect place to come if you like the great outdoors. These stunning ruins are one of the areas most iconic landmarks and are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife of all descriptions. There is also a 17th century mansion to explore with grand rooms and wonderful exhibits of paintings and tapestries. The gardens feature amazing floral displays and there is also a delightful Tea Room. Children can let of steam on the adventure playground.
Rhondda Heritage Park - CF37 2NP

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.
Lama Trekking at Old king Street Farm - NP16 6AA

Lamas are gentle, affectionate and unique animals and Lama Trekking is fast becoming a popular family attraction. At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available. 
National Botanic Garden of Wales - SA32 8HN

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
