About Arthur

This cosy cabin is a lovely base for two or four guests, perfect for slowing down while still having plenty to do nearby. Spend a day in Brecon Beacons National Park (20 miles), where routes such as the Four Waterfalls Trail near Ystradfellte or the climb up Pen y Fan reward walkers with memorable scenery.

Closer to home, follow the woodland paths and old railway line through Sirhowy Valley Country Park (3.5 miles), or enjoy a gentle afternoon beside Cwmbran Boating Lake (15 miles). Caerphilly (10 miles) makes a history buff’s ideal day out, with its impressive moated castle, independent cafes and chances to try Welsh rarebit, cawl or locally made Caerphilly cheese.

For city days, head to Newport (11 miles) or Cardiff (18 miles), before returning to a welcoming local pub for a hearty meal with hillside views. Inside, this converted property is arranged across one easy level, starting with a practical kitchen/diner.

Modern fittings and warm yellow details give the room a fresh, uncluttered look, while the appliances provide everything needed for simple holiday meals, including an electric oven and hob. Gather at the bench seating for four to enjoy home-cooked dinners.

The living space sits just beyond and includes seating, a Smart TV, and patio doors that open onto the garden. Sleeping arrangements include a king-size bedroom with a wooden-frame bed, an overhead skylight, storage, and a sofa bed in the lounge for two extra guests if required, at an additional cost to be arranged directly with the owner.

A large wet room with an open shower and WC completes the layout. The outside space is set up for post-adventure downtime.

A wood-fired hot tub is available to hire on a first-come, first-served basis, to ease into after romantic strolls in the countryside. You can also hire the hobbit hut with family and friends; it has seating for up to 20 guests arranged around a fire pit, a small bar area, and its own shower and WC next door.
