Timber Barn Reviews

The property was beautiful. My main issue was that the fridges weren't entirely clean when we arrived, noise travelled easily making the house pretty noisy and the host didn't provode enough toilet paper. That said, the rooms were warm and comfortable, the hot tub was stunning and we had a great time walking around the local area. I would stay again.
Was a gorgeous house, we had problems with the hottub on the Saturday, it got checked and filled up around 10am and needed to wait about 4 hours for it to reach temperature 4 hours later it had been put on eco and wasnt warm enough. The owner was away for the weekend and the numbers in the help book wasnt available basically telling us to Google it. A lovely man called Tom managed get to get the user manual by the time we done that, it was ready for us to use on the Sunday which most of the group had left by then, the house is stunning we even had a karaoke machine we bought with us and zigi didnt mind, we hired the place for a week but only stayed for a long weekend the price was the same we all had a relaxing time a lovely little get away
12 of us stayed in the house for my 40th birthday, children and adults. The house was beautiful and very clean. It had all the things we could possibly need from crockery to pots & pans and a coffee machine. All the bedrooms were spotless and really comfortable. The hostess was lovely and willing to provide anything we may need. We all loved the hot tub and were very lucky that we had cold, crisp nights to see the stars while enjoying the lovely tub. Id definitely recommend this house!
A lovely barn, really well equipped and perfect location.
Annabel
The Timber Barn lived up to all our expectations and proved the perfect setting for our first family get together. It was warm, well equipped, spacious and affordable, we're just sorry we couldn't take advantage of staying longer but will factor that in for the future!! It was a really nice touch having a Christmas tree in one of the sitting rooms, the perfect background for our Secret Santa. Thank you also for the goodies you left for us including dog biscuits... nice! Despite the very chilly weather the hot tub was enjoyed by many of us, although the frost never managed to clear on the tennis court for it to be safe to use. Maybe next time! A couple of suggestions from the group offer What 3 Words for directions we did this for our takeaway delivery, it's used by lots of people these days, gets round wordy directions and also fairly essential if needing emergency services. the house manual could do with a make over. maybe include a simple guide to using showers. These are just minor things. As you can probably tell we had a great time. Thank you, Annabel
Lovely property set in wonderful countryside. Accommodation was large enough for 3 families to share and enjoy. Access to hot tub and tennis court were great extras. Friendly and thoughtful host. We highly recommend.

We had a lovely birthday celebration weekend the cottage was really well equipped and the host was charming.
If you like peace and quiet this place is amazing, we all had a fantastic time at The Timber Barn, the hot tub was a great addition and the kitchen has everything you could need.
It was one of our best holidays yet! We had no problems whatsoever.
We have booked large properties with Sykes for several years but rate this as the best we have stayed at which was further enhanced by the friendly owner who greeted us and saw us when we left. Our party of 7 adults were all impressed and we will certainly book again in the future

Considering this property sleeps 12 there was insufficient refrigeration for the volume of food and drink required
A lovely property in wonderful surroundings. The owner extremely welcoming and helpful
A beautiful well equipped cottage with everything you could possibly want. The owner was on hand if needed but gave us our privacy too. Very pretty villages, gentle countryside and lots of stunning gardens to visit.

A group of 10 lady golfers stayed just for a weekend May 2023. We found the layout of the barn great as the open plan kitchen dining area and lounge meant we could all be together whilst some were preparing the meals. We never did go into the second reception room as there was no need. The king size beds were split into 2 singles so there were enough separate beds for us all. Being organiser I had the master bedroom which was gorgeous. The hot tub just outside the kitchen was great. As we were leaving we all wished we had planned to stay longer. Kington golf club 8 miles away was great. Absolutely on top of the world with amazing views.
Timber Barn is an excellent facility for a large group and Zigi was a very helpful host both prior to arrival which helped us map people to rooms and during the stay. The hot tub was very popular and we had a couple of games of tennis as well. The concrete area in front of the property was great for children's scooters too. A great week

Lovely house. We have been before. Zigy is a great host. Any issues big or small and she responds immediately. The location is absolutely stunning and we loved the hot tub. PS Might need a better can opener as we struggled with the one there but otherwise all good.
We had a great time at timber barn. House is lovely and the bonus metal detecting was fantastic. Very relaxed surroundings and peaceful.
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful well equipped barn. There were 11 of us with ages between 86 and 11. The only criticism is that as it's a dog friendly property it would be good to have an enclosed space to let the dogs out. I appreciate this is a working farm but the area by the hot tub could be fenced off to provide a small enclosed area. We were having to take the dog out on his lead in the pitch dark. Other than that the whole place is lovely and the surrounding area is beautiful.
Pamela
Lovely place, comfy clean and warm, very well stocked kitchen. Ideal for a large family celebration. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and tennis courts. Maurice and Nicky were friendly and helpful.
Teresa
We had a lovely stay. There were ample bedrooms and bathrooms for our family 4 separate households plenty of catering equipment. Lovely and warm. Immaculate hot tub and tennis court much enjoyed by everyone. The location is lovely and rural Herefordshire great scenery. This barn conversion was originally finished to a very high standard it is showing a little sign of wear but this is not offputting in anyway. A very nice holiday let.
Beautiful cottage, lovely location and really helpful owners
Excellent place for us to stay. Friendly people and very helpful. Lovely setting.
Cheryl
Had a wonderful holiday at Timber Barn. So peaceful and beautiful views. The barn is so spacious and perfect for a group of people. The log fire and hot tub just made it extra special. The people on the farm were so helpful and kind. Would have liked bigger single beds as some adults had to sleep in them.
The holiday home was wonderful. Lovely and comfortable. Well equipped for a party of 12 with two exceptions 1, it needed more freezer space for a large party staying over Christmas. Maybe not such an issue in warmer times but with shops Morrisons closed and not so local, and the need to stock up in advance, it was lacking and some produce went off. 2, The master bedroom was splendid, but was a bit wasted in some ways and could possibly have been split into 2 rooms. Hot tub was brilliant. We still had a wonderful family Christmas together. Thanks to our host Zigi and also Nicky

An excellent property for a large gathering, will equipped, spacious with options for everyone. Great location in the countryside.
Barn was excellent for three generations, spacious with two separate seating areas for time away from four grandchildren, all aged under three! Tennis court well maintained, would have been helpful to have rackets and balls provided. Well equipped kitchen if a little disorganised. Fridge space limited for a property that accommodates twelve. We appreciated being able to walk around the farm and enjoyed the wonderful views. Good location.
We were a group of extended family ranging from people their twenties to people in their nineties and a dog. We had a very relaxed stay at the Timber Barn. Zigi was very helpful with directions before our arrival and was on hand if we needed anything, but we were largely unaware of there being anyone else around during our stay. We made good use of the tennis courts. Not so much the hot tub as it wasn't really our thing, but it was always available and seemed like a good one. The house was warm and we weren't lacking anything in the kitchen for big family meals. There is plenty of room to get some space if you need that. The property is perfect for a large group of family or friends because it has a very relaxed feel. The barn has been really nicely converted more comfortable than most conversions I have been in but if you were the type of person to like everything new and pristine, you might be disappointed. For us it was perfect. Spacious enough to spend time in together but homely and warm with everything you could need.
Louise
Spent a long weekend here on a hen do, 11 of us in total. The barn is beautiful and set in beautiful countryside. All beds were made into singles which was perfect. Two sitting areas although only needed to use the one. Big kitchen area and large island. Zigi the owner is lovely and very helpful. We walked into Eardisland and went to the cross inn for dinner which was amazing.
Great place to stay as a large family or group of friends. The two large seating areas mean the people can do their own thing without getting in each others way. House is well equipped with plenty of cooking equipment, fridge and freezer space which is needed if 12 of you are staying. Hot tub is great and just outside the kitchen. Outside seating area is plenty big enough for 12 people. Plenty of places to walk the dog around the farm.

As a family group of six adults and six children, aged from 7 to 16 years, the accomodation suited our needs perfectly. The rooms are very spacious and well furnished, and the kitchen is geneously equipped with crockery, cutlery and cookware. The only slight criticism is that we would have liked a larger, second fridge or possibly a separate, wine and drinks fridge. We made good use of the tennis court and hot tub and there are plenty of pleasant walks around and near the farm. The owner, Ziggi is absolutely delightful. She was always happy to chat when we saw her, usually when using the tennis court at the rear of the farmhouse. Her two red setters are very friendly and usually came to the garden gate for fussing, when we used the court. I am very happy to recommend this propery to others. Ziggi made us feel very welcome on arrival and was kind enough to bid us farewell when we left.

Enjoyed a great week with the family and Timber Barn had everything we needed. We had previously stayed there 2 years ago so knew what to expect. However in that time nothing has changed and certain aspects are beginning to look a little tired. We did have one crisis with one of the young children locking herself in the toilet. Rather than key locks I would recommend that the owners arrange for bathroom and toilet doors to be fitted with the style of lock that can be opened from the outside in an emergency.
Pamela
Timber Barn is very spacious plenty of room for our four generational family plus a dog. It is set in in a beautiful location with wonderful views. Zigi, the owner, was most helpful and always on hand should we have any issues.
Stuart
Fantastic venue with lots of space for a larger family celebration. Facilities were very good and host couldn't have been more accommodating.
Shirley
Timber Barn is a large comfortable house for a family friends get together. There are two comfortable sitting rooms, and a well equipped kitchen. We made good use of the tennis court and hot tub, and the barn is in a good location for days out to Hay on Wye, Ludlow and various other towns, and near some interesting National Trust properties. The surrounding countryside is lush and beautiful. My only criticism of the property is the outdoor eating and seating area, which isnt paved and could do with some relaxing loungers , other than that we had a very enjoyable week there. Ziggy, the owner, is charming and very easy to communicate with.
An ideal property for a family get together. Suited all ages, plenty of space inside and out. We made use of the BBQ, Hot tub and tennis court. Every member of the family enjoyed from ages 275! Zigi welcomed us and was easy to contact should we need any help.
We had an absolutely wonderful holiday at The Timber Barn. The property is lovely and has everything you could need. The tennis court and hot tub were fantastic. Zigi was a great host. We would love to come again in the future.
Timber Barn is a fantastic place to stay and we had a really wonderful week. We were a gathering of 3 families and although there were 11 of us there was plenty of room for everyone. The property was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, The hot tub and tennis court were very well used and enjoyed by all of us. You can also see both the sunset and sunrise from the property as it is on a small high overlooking the countryside. Zigi the owner was very helpful and we cannot thank her enough for a lovely, happy week.
Timber barn was amazing, so much room and very clean. We stayed for my belated 70th birthday which should have been last year but we got locked down. The grandchildren loved the tennis court and hot tub.Ziggi was very helpful and friendly. My family would definitely like to stay again.
A lovely place to stay. The barn felt so homely and comfy and this was felt by the whole family. The owner Zigi, was very helpful with us as we arrived in the midst of Storm Eunice and was suffering a power cut. She gave us candles, torches, hot water for a cup of tea and offered us the opportunity to warm a meal if we wanted A lovely place to stay run by a lovely lady.
We had a brilliant week at Timber Barn. The accommodation was perfect for us 6 children and 5 adults, with lots of space. The tennis court was great, and we all enjoyed the hot tub. The location was ideal for a quiet week away. We could walk into Eardisland easily enough, where we enjoyed the tea rooms and local pub. The village is beautiful.
