Heron Lodge

This cedar lodge is set beside a private, secluded, stocked fishing lake on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, with its own private outdoor hot tub and barrel sauna. Part of a lakeside lodge complex where roach, tench, perch, pike, and carp swim in the waters below, the lodge is a natural fit for couples seeking a quiet countryside break.

The surrounding area is rich in history and wildlife. The 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum, 4 miles away, documents the story of American airmen stationed locally during WW2.

Bressingham Steam and Gardens (10 miles) pairs heritage railways with colourful planted borders. Framlingham Castle (11 miles) is a striking Tudor stronghold with wide views across the Suffolk landscape.

Banham Zoo (12 miles) is home to over 1,000 animals, and the birdwatching reserves around Lound Lakes sit within 20 miles. An open-plan living area sets a contemporary, sociable tone, with a well-equipped kitchen along one wall and a comfortable sitting space arranged around a Smart TV with DVD.

Wide windows fill the room with natural light, giving the lodge a spacious, airy feel. A door from the living area opens into the bedroom, where a generous super-king-size bed sits at the heart of the room, made up with fresh linen and soft duvets ready for arrival.

Glass doors lead from the bedroom straight onto a private deck, framing the lake and connecting the sleeping space with the water beyond. Adjacent to the bedroom, the bathroom features a freestanding stone bath as its centrepiece, complemented by a walk-in shower and WC.

Fluffy bathrobes hang ready, and fresh towels are provided. The cedar construction brings natural warmth to the clean, contemporary finish throughout the lodge.
