Picture it: the kettle’s on, the dog has claimed the rug by the glass doors, and out on the deck the water is already steaming. Two bedrooms means two couples, or a family of four, can share the cost without anyone sleeping on the sofa. That’s why a 2 bedroom lodge with hot tub is the stay we get asked about more than any other size.
The trouble is finding one. Search for it and you’ll mostly land on a single park’s booking page, showing that park’s lodges and nothing else.
So we’ve done the comparing for you. Below are six luxury lodges and log cabins from the Yorkshire coast to the East Neuk of Fife, every one with its own private hot tub on the decking and every one happy to take a well-behaved dog. Each card shows the guests, bedrooms and bathrooms from the listing, so you can see at a glance which suits your four.

Is a 2 bedroom lodge with hot tub right for your group?
For four adults or a family of four, usually yes. Here’s who it suits best:
- Two couples. Each pair gets a door that closes, and a second shower room saves the morning queue.
- Families with two children. The second room is often a twin bedroom, which is exactly what the kids need.
- A couple and their dog who want space. The spare room becomes the boot room and dog bed zone, and you’re not paying for a big house you won’t fill.
- Friends splitting the bill. Shared four ways, a weekend getaway like this often costs less per person than a hotel room with spa access.
It’s less suited to six, even when a sofa bed is listed. Some holiday park lodges are sold as sleeps 6 that way, but the tub and the shower will feel it. If you’re a bigger crowd, our four bedroom lodges with hot tubs for groups of eight are the better fit.
Which two bedroom lodges with hot tubs take dogs?
Every lodge on this page does, but “dog friendly” means different things from one owner to the next. Before you book, check three things on the listing: how many dogs, whether there’s a charge, and whether dogs can be left alone inside while you eat out.
Then think about where you’ll walk them. On Dartmoor, dogs must be kept on a short lead of no more than 2 metres on access land from 1 March to 31 July, when skylarks, meadow pipits and curlews are nesting on the ground. Plenty of Cornish beaches restrict dogs in the summer months too, so check the beach before you load the car.
Out of season it’s a different story. Quiet sands, empty clifftop paths and a hot tub waiting when you get back: that’s why October to March is our favourite time for a lodge break with a dog. For more ideas, see our dog friendly lodges with an enclosed garden, handy if yours is an escape artist.
Twin or double, one bathroom or two?
Most two bed lodges follow the same plan. There’s a master bedroom with a double, king size or super king bed and an en suite shower room, then a twin room and a family bathroom across the hall. Many parks will make the twin up as a double if you ask at booking.
Showers matter more than people think on a holiday for four. Five of our six picks have two, which changes the whole feel of a weekend for two couples.
What’s usually included
Modern holiday accommodation like this tends to come well set up, though it’s worth checking each listing. Expect most of these:
- A fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave and often a coffee machine
- An open plan lounge and dining area, with glass doors onto the decking
- Bed linen and towels, plus central heating for cold nights
- Parking for two cars, and an EV charging point at some newer parks
- A washing machine, handy after a week of muddy dog walks
Park or standalone?
On a holiday park you’ll often get a fishing lake, a shop and a bar within walking distance, but the next lodge may be close by. A standalone lodge on a farm, like the ones near Anstruther and Auchencairn, trades those extras for peace and a bigger view.
Wood-fired or electric hot tub?
Electric tubs are kept hot for you, so you can step in the moment you arrive. A wood-fired tub, like the one at Rosefinch Cabin, is more of an event. You light the stove, wait for the water to come up to temperature and feed it logs as the evening goes on.
It’s slower, but sitting in wood-smoked water while the sea goes dark is the best way we know to relax and unwind!
Hot tub tips for a lodge of four
Keep the water at or below 40°C, the maximum the British and European standard for domestic hot tubs recommends, and nearer 38°C if you plan a long soak. Shower before you get in, keep drinks in plastic cups and always put the cover back on afterwards, which keeps the heat in and the dog out. Never leave children alone near the water.
Find your two bedroom hot tub lodge
For four people, a two bed lodge hits the sweet spot: room to spread out, a private soak every night and a bill that splits nicely. If you fancy Fife in spring, the May Princess sails from Anstruther to the Isle of May from 1 April to 30 September, and the puffins are there from April to the end of July.
Whichever lodge holiday you pick, book early for half term and Christmas, when two bed lodges go first. If none of these six is free for your dates, browse more lodge and cabin ideas or start your search for a cottage with a hot tub anywhere in the UK.
