East Yorkshire Lodges with Hot Tubs: Wolds, Lakes and Coast

Six hand-picked hot tub lodges in the East Riding, from lakeside cabins near Hornsea to Wolds lodges and a Bridlington golf retreat, plus what to do nearby.

Lakeside hot tub lodges in the East Riding look out over flat farmland towards the low Wolds

Picture it: the lid comes off the hot tub, steam rolls across the decking, and the only thing moving on the fishing lake is a heron. Out past the reeds, the farmland runs flat and wide to a sky that seems twice the size of anywhere else in Yorkshire. That’s the East Riding of Yorkshire. It’s quieter than the North York Moors, cheaper than the Dales, and it has the chalk cliffs, the market towns and a long stretch of coastline all close to each other.

We’ve picked six East Yorkshire lodges with hot tubs below, all live on our site right now. Three are lakeside lodges in Holderness, two sit up in the Wolds countryside and one is on a golf estate at Sewerby, a short hop from Bridlington.

Why choose East Yorkshire lodges with hot tubs over the busier coast?

Price and peace, mostly. The big seaside holiday parks further north around Scarborough and Filey fill up fast in summer, while each lodge park here tends to be a small site of a handful of cosy cabins, often beside a private fishing lake or tucked behind a family farm.

You also get a real mix of scenery from one base. The Wolds are rolling chalk hills with dry valleys and big skies, Holderness is low, open and full of meres and lakes, and the shore swings from the white cliffs of Flamborough Head down to the sand at Withernsea.

Every holiday lodge below has its own private hot tub, and most come with a view you’ll want to sit and stare at.

Things to do from your hot tub lodge

Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough Head (puffins mid-April to mid-July)

Up to half a million seabirds pack onto the chalk at RSPB Bempton Cliffs in summer, from gannets and kittiwakes to razorbills and puffins. June is the peak month for puffins, and you watch from viewpoints along the cliff-top path. Round the corner, Flamborough Head pushes out into the North Sea between Filey Bay and Bridlington Bay, with two lighthouses on top, the older one dating from 1669.

The Yorkshire Wolds Way and Hockney country

The Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail runs 79 miles from Hessle on the Humber to Filey Brigg. You don’t need to walk it all. A morning stretch through the dry chalk valleys, then home to the hot tub, is the right way to do it.

Calling all art lovers! The woodland near the village of Warter, a few miles from Bishop Wilton, inspired David Hockney’s huge painting Bigger Trees Near Warter, made from 50 panels painted outdoors.

Beverley

One of the best market towns to visit in the north, with its medieval Minster at one end and the Westwood at the other. That vast common was handed to the townspeople in 1380, cattle still graze it, and the racecourse on its edge has held an annual meeting since 1767.

Burton Agnes Hall (28 March to 1 November 2026)

An Elizabethan house near Driffield, built between 1598 and 1610 and still lived in by the same family. Its gardens and café also open from 14 November to 23 December for Christmas, so it suits a winter stay too. Check the latest times on the Burton Agnes website before you go.

Hornsea Mere and the beaches

Yorkshire’s largest freshwater lake covers 467 acres just inland from the town, with boat trips, rowing and fishing, and it’s a protected site for birds. Then it’s a short stroll to the long sandy beach and the views out to sea.

Are dogs allowed at East Yorkshire hot tub lodges?

Some are. Of the six above, Meadowbank Lodge and the detached lodge in Brandesburton welcome pets, and the detached one has an enclosed garden. A few tips before you book:

  • Check the pet limit on the lodge page, as many allow one or two only.
  • Never leave a pet alone near an uncovered hot tub, and keep the lid on when you’re not using it.
  • Seabird colonies at Bempton and Flamborough are nesting sites, so keep them on a lead along the cliff tops in spring and summer.
  • Bring a towel for after the beach, as most lodges ask for pets to stay off the furniture.

Lodge, log cabin or cottage?

In practice the words overlap. A holiday lodge in the East Riding of Yorkshire is usually a single-storey timber building on a small park or farm, often with a lakeside deck and a view over the water. A log cabin is the same idea with a more rustic finish. A cottage is a stone or brick house, sometimes a barn conversion, and normally sits on its own. Every lodge here is self-catering, and the private hot tub is yours alone for the stay.
