Spitfire Lodge Reviews

We had a great time, lovely quiet location and everything you could need. We would definitely return again.
This was the perfect place for our wedding anniversary getaway! From the moment we booked the communication with Lisa was excellent, even giving us advice on places to eat out. Lisa was there when we arrived and gave us a very warm welcome, showing us around, and how to work the hot tub and sauna, which were ready for us straight away. The lodge is perfect, was very clean and had everything we need, even a basket of treats and fruit, with milk and juice in the fridge. Towels were also provided for the lodge and sauna! We loved sitting out on an evening and just soaking in the peacefulness of the area! We enjoyed our stay so much, we didn't want to leave. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic getaway, this is definitely the place to book, you will not be disappointed! I'm sure we will be back again! Thank you for the perfect week xx

We had such a lovely stay at Spitfire Lodge, it really felt like a home from home. Lisa and Carl have thought of everything to make it a relaxing and comfortable break. The welcome pack for both us and our dog was such a nice touch, including a tag for her wear while we were away so thoughtful! We enjoyed every minute of our 3night stay. The hot tub and sauna were an added bonus perfect for unwinding. We'd definitely recommend Spitfire Lodge to anyone looking for a chilledout getaway, with the perfect hosts on hand if needed. The perfect retreat with genuine attention to detail. Lisa and Carl have thought of everything which makes your stay memorable, comfortable and stress free. This place is a gem and comes very highly recommended.

Arriving at Spitfire Lodge we had a lovely welcome. It was relaxed and friendly. Inside we were greater with a well organised and very clean accomadation. The welcome pack was superb with loads of 'goodies' and milk in the fridge. Our dog 'Rosie' had her own welcome pack of treats, poo bags blankets and a bed, how wonderful!. Our four day stay was brilliant, Carl and Lisa were brilliant hosts and the lodge position makes it ideal for exploring the area. The information folder had good recommendations. If you stay there it's well worth booking a session on the Sptfire Simulator with Carl, if you can.....its amazing!!! Highly recommend the venue and the hosts, thank you Lisa and Carl.

We had a lovely few days in lodge. Lisa, Carl and family were very welcoming. More than willing to show us around and how everything worked. Told us of a few places we could visit while we were there. The lodge was clean and very well maintained as were the hot tub and sauna. Which we thoroughly enjoyed using. We will be visiting again in the future.

Immaculate, cosy, spotlessly clean, dog friendly, rural cottage. Fantastic owners who are close by if needed. Property private and well equipped with nice little additional touches. Perfect for a romantic long weekend to relax and rejuvenate in. Hot tub fabulous size and sauna a nice touch to relax after endless walking possibilities or a stroll to a nearby pub we found 3 within dog walking distance it's nice to know villages and people like this still exist. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful place, great people. Very accurate. Carl and Lisa are fantastic hosts . Will definitely return.
What a great retreat. Beautiful Lodge in a beautiful area. Everything you can think of is provided. Beautiful inside and out. We used the private sauna and hot tub every day. The welcome basket was very much appreciated when we first arrived until we sussed out where to go to pick supplies up. A folder with great information and suggested places to visit was very useful. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Loads of great places to visit close by. One of our favourites was the Trentham monkey forest which is the only place in Britain where the monkeys live freely. Thankyou for a great retreat. Will definitely return.

Just returned from a fantastic 3 nights with my partner. Owners were lovely, lodge was very clean and had everything that we needed. Very private and was lovely to have the hot tub and sauna to use. We will definitely return.
Just come back from a lovely long weekend at Spitfire Lodge. The accommodation was perfect. Great for a peaceful and relaxing escape. The hot tub is large and was ready to get into as soon as we arrived, as was the Sauna. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was a lovely basket of goodies. The owners, Lisa and Carl are a really nice friendly couple, who were more than helpful, and offered us advice on places to go locally. Also had a log burner all set up to be lit. Our first time staying here, but it definitely wont be the last. Marie & Martin

A Perfect Birthday Getaway! The Spitfire Lodge is an exceptional retreata hidden gem and an ideal destination for a couples' getaway. The lodge is beautifully decorated to a high standard and maintained impeccably. The facilities are outstanding, leaving us wanting for nothing. The kitchen is fully equipped with every utensil, pot, pan, piece of crockery, glassware, and gadget one could possibly need. We were also delighted by the thoughtful welcome hamper, which included biscuits, chocolates, crisps, and brioche rolls, along with fresh milk in the fridge and a selection of tea and coffee. A particularly thoughtful touch was the inclusion of ketchup and brown sauce, which we had forgotten for our breakfast. The private hot tub and sauna were standout features, providing the ultimate relaxation, while the log fire added a cozy and inviting atmosphereperfect for chilly winter evenings. Generous supplies of logs and firelighters were provided, ensuring a hasslefree experience. Lisa and Carl are exceptional hostsattentive yet unobtrusivestriking the perfect balance to create a truly private and relaxing stay. Their communication prior to our visit was clear, helpful, and informative, making the entire experience seamless. Thank you for sharing this beautiful hideaway with us. Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom - TF6 6DJ
about 13 Miles
Locally renowned for the Sheep Steeple chasing and daily goat races this is a really unique family attraction that the kids will love.  You can really get hands on with the farm animals with the animal handling sessions and you can have a go at teaching the parrots to talk!  The crazy craft cabin will keep even the most creative entertained with pottery and painting amongst other things. When you are in need of a rest head for the The Hungry Shepherd Tea Room where you can enjoy a bite to eat and children can burn even more energy in the indoor play area.
British Wildlife Rescue Centre - TN8 7AR
about 15 Miles
This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Wonderland - ME10 4PB
about 17 Miles
This award winning theme park in Shropshire has something for everyone.  Children will delight at the amazing array of rides and activities. Described on their own website as a "fairytale adventure" there is a nursery rhyme and fairytale characters theme running throughout the park. One inside the park you can enjoy unlimited free rides and there's an indoor soft play area for the younger ones and for when the weather is not on your side.  Another popular aspect of this attraction is the nature trail.  Check out their website for the latest events and admission costs. This company also owns Jungleland - another great attraction just 4 miles from Wonderland.
Alton Towers - ST10 4DB
about 20 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
Shropshire Wildlife Trust - SY3 5FB
about 21 Miles
This is a fantastic attraction in the Shrewsbury area of Shropshire.  Designed to provide children with a fun and educational experience the whole family can learn about wildlife here and the outdoors.  There are 38 nature reserves in total and visitors are welcomed and encouraged to enjoy the area by taking part in walks, talks and regular events.  Check out their website for the latest events such as Apple Day and Wildlife through the Seasons.
The Edge Adventure Activity Centre - SK17 8PW
about 23 Miles
The Edge Adventure Activity Centre is the place to go if you are looking to have a day out with a difference. Ideal for active families with older kids and teenagers, the centre offers a range of thrilling activities including High Rope Courses, Trekking, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Mountain Boarding and Off Road Karting. You can enjoy just one or try a few of the available activities during a day at the centre. The centre also offers fun packed birthday parties and corporate events.
Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 25 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
