Brightwater Lodge Reviews

Weve just returned from 3 nights at the lodge and its a perfect little home from home its very cosy. the hot tub is fabulous, there is everything you could possibly need in the kitchen making it easy if youre staying in to eat, the park is nice and peaceful but a great base from exploring the lakes. Andy was really helpful when I had a bird brained question for him! And was good enough to get back to me instantly. We all really enjoyed it and we hope to return!

We had an amazing stay at Brightwater, the lodge was situated less than a minutes walk from the lake and a few minutes to the main area of the site. Easy access to all local amenities and areas of interests. Would highly recommend this lodge, very clean and spacious. Hot tub was a bonus and so was the Xbox great when you have teenagers!
Great location, loved the hot tub, nice cosy living & dining room with fast starlink Internet, Netflix ect for you to enjoy in the evenings and a xbox we didn't use but still a nice addition. The coffee machine was lovely to have for morning coffees. Only thing we didn't enjoy was the bed mattress, couldn't get comfortable, could feel the springs in the master room Overall would definitely recommend, lodge was nice and the owner was very friendly and helpful.
I cant recommend this lodge enough. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub and jacuzzi bath are fabulous. Correspondence from the owner prior to our arrival was excellent and contact numbers for himself and maintenance etc were readily available but not needed as everything was great. We will definitely be returning.
Lovely lodge. very clean and well equipped. The hot tub was great and so was the jacuzzi bath. The location was right by lake Windermere and was just a 2 minute walk away. Andrew the owner phoned us to see if everything was Ok and you felt very well care for, because of this. I would highly recommend this lodge as it's clean and comfortable and right in the heart of the lake district and in easy travelling distance to all well known tourist attractions.
Very lovely lodge, had everything we needed, enjoyed the hot tub and found the food on site very good value. We will be back soon I hope. Thank you!!

Fantastic accommodation and great experience from start to finish. Andy was great with his communication about the lodge which made for an easy start and arrival. The lodge was in a great location and the park felt peaceful and relaxed and in a great spot for exploring. We enjoyed paddle boarding, canoeing and a trip on the steamer boats as well as plenty of walking and exploring. The lodge itself was lovely, comfortable and spacious with great facilities. The hot tub and decked area was a lovely addition for a relaxing evening. We had a minor issue which Andy responded to immediately so reassuring when you are just wanting to relax on holiday. Thank you for a great experience!
Lovely cozy, lodge with everything that's needed. Great location to explore The Lakes. Had a great few days and look forward to returning at some point.
Good location very comfortable perfect for what we wanted The owner was very ... Good location very comfortable perfect for what we wanted The owner was very accommodating and helpful as we managed to check in earlier than expected
Lovely cabin with everything we needed except butter knives We were lucky with the weather. Enjoyed days out at Brockhole, hired a boat, Lakeland Maze Farm Honister Slate Mine. But mostly enjoyed a wee paddle in the lakes, have for BBQ and sit on the decking before relaxing in the hot tub. Thank you
We had the most amazing stay, beautiful lodge amazing facilities, fantastic hot tub, amazing comfy beds. Can't wait for our next stay. Thank you so much.
Had a lovely weekend relaxing in the hot tub, beautiful well equipped lodge. Great location lots to do and see. Enjoyed every minute, thanks Andy we will be back x
We had a lovely family break. Andy the host was very helpful from the off, with all relevant information needed for access and important info. The lodge welcomed us with a nice warm and cozy feeling. The lights were on as we were arriving late. Everything was included and easily accessible in the kitchen. Beds were comfy enough. Location is great for access to the lake and the bar. Easily enough parking for two cars. Overall, great time was had and would definitely book again if the chance ever came up.

Lovely lodge on beautiful Windermere. Lodge was clean and comfortable with the added bonus of the hot tub. The owner was very helpful and sent a video of how to locate the lodge in advance of our stay. The site itself was quiet although I expect it would be busier later in the year and our little dog enjoyed sniffing her way around it. A great base for exploring the Lakes. We had a lovely time.
Site and lodge was spotless. Ticked every box

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
