With uninterrupted views and direct access to the shoreline, you can begin each day with a bracing sea-air stroll, beachcombing along the coast, or simply enjoying coffee on the terrace as the tide rolls in.
5.5 miles away, Morecambe provides classic seaside charm, with attractions, cafes and a promenade perfect for an easy-going afternoon. For a dose of history, head 8.5 miles to Lancaster, where you can explore the striking Lancaster Castle, wander cobbled streets and enjoy the city’s independent shops and restaurants.
Golf enthusiasts will be particularly well catered for, with several excellent courses nearby. Nature lovers can venture 10 miles to the Forest of Bowland National Landscape or plan a bigger day out to the Lake District National Park (25 miles) for iconic lakes, mountain hikes and unforgettable scenery.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
