History enthusiasts will enjoy a trip 8.5 miles inland to Lancaster, where Lancaster Castle dominates the skyline, and cobbled streets hide independent shops, pubs, and restaurants.
Several nearby golf courses offer scenic fairways with views of both sea and countryside. Outdoor lovers can venture 10 miles to the Forest of Bowland National Landscape for rolling hills, tranquil walks, and wildlife spotting, or make a day trip to the Lake District National Park (25 miles).
Inside, the ground floor unfolds into a striking open-plan layout, blending bold contemporary design with luxurious comfort. The lounge draws you in with a wood burner, a massive TV, and an immersive sound system, while the adjoining games room and kitchen-dining area are equipped with every conceivable indulgence for self-catering and socialising.
A nautical-themed family room on this level sleeps four in single beds and has its own en-suite shower room, while a quiet reading nook provides a cosy spot away from the bustle. Upstairs, four decadent bedrooms each carry a unique theme and personality, comprising: a single bedroom, a triple with three single beds, a double with an en-suite shower room, and a family room with two custom-designed double bunk beds with a super king below and a snug single above sleeping six (and there’s even a slide!).
This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
