After winding through the leafy lanes of Lancashire, guests arrive to find generous off-road parking and EV charging, making arrival smooth and convenient. The property’s historic character is immediately apparent, with its 1700s origins reflected in the charming stonework and timeless silhouette.
Inside, the open-plan living space is both inviting and thoughtfully designed. The kitchen is a standout feature, with sleek white cabinetry, a central island and breakfast bar seating, all bathed in natural light from the window above the sink, which offers a tranquil view of surrounding greenery.
Budding chefs will find everything they need to prepare hearty meals, from the induction hob and oven to the microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The dining area is neatly laid and positioned beside a large window, where guests can enjoy meals with a view of rolling fields beyond.
After dinner, retreat to the sitting area, where a mounted TV and woodburning stove create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Pictures adorn the walls, adding character and charm to the space, while soft lighting and plush seating invite guests to unwind.
The bedrooms are carpeted throughout, offering a soft and warm underfoot experience. Two double rooms each benefit from en-suite walk-in showers, providing privacy and comfort.
A twin room offers a restful space for guests of all ages, while the family room, with three single beds, is ideal for children or friends sharing. These are served by a bathroom with a bath and shower over, and a separate shower room with a walk-in shower and heated towel rail, ensuring everyone has space to refresh and prepare for the day ahead.
This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
