Further afield, the Forest of Bowland (27 miles) offers stunning walking and cycling routes. Golfers are spoilt for choice with several excellent courses nearby, including world-famous Royal Lytham, Old Links, Fairhaven and Green Drive—all within a 10–15 minute drive—and a driving range just a short walk from the house.

Tucked away at the back of Lytham is the spectacularly renovated Lytham Hall, an 18th-century Georgian house set in 80 acres of parkland. Open to visitors for free, it regularly hosts family events, or you can simply indulge in a luxury afternoon tea and a woodland stroll.

Inside, Fletchers Manor is full of character, boasting ornate original features, eye-catching artwork, antique-style furnishings and curious artefacts. Underfloor heating throughout keeps everything wonderfully cosy.

On arrival, step into the entrance hallway to find a ground-floor king bedroom with an en-suite shower room and separate toilet, followed by three further bedrooms: a super-king zip-and-link with a slipper-bath en-suite, a super-king with an indulgent four-poster bed and an en-suite with shower and Jacuzzi-style bath, and a twin with its own en-suite shower room. The showstopping lounge is a real treat, with vaulted ceilings, beautiful beams, stained glass, a feature fireplace, a Smart TV for relaxed evenings, and plenty of comfy seating for 12.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Gulliver's World Theme Park - WA5 9YZ

This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.
