Jackdaw Reviews

Had a wonderful stay. The cottage was lovely. Thank you for the welcome pack, very thoughtful. The views from the cottage are stunning and it's really peaceful. The location is fantastic, beautiful walk into Bamburgh. The only thing we all agreed onthe only negative the beds were not comfortable, could do with new, thicker matresses. We would highly recommend Jackdaw and would definitely return.
We had a wonderful week staying at Jackdaw. Loved being able to open the patio doors and hear the sea. It was great being able to get to the coastal path by walking through the gate at the bottom of the garden. The garden was fully enclosed, even to my escape artist of a dog. The welcome box for us and another for the dog was a lovely touch. Ive stayed in a number of holiday cottages over the years but this could be the best!
All of my family loved every minute of it, cant wait to return ! !! Such a special property and place to visit, would recommend this property!!!
We really enjoyed our stay at Jackdaw. Its a fantastic holiday home. We especially enjoyed using the jacuzzi & sauna! Weve booked it again for next Spring! Ps we also thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Apple Inn & Spa.

The Cottage was First Cass, it is in a delightful location with magnificent views across the sea. in the listings it said it had 3 walkin showers, it only had 2 which made it very difficult for my wife who has severe walking disabilities to have to climb the stairs for a shower as she could not climb into the bath down stairs. the 3 pieces Suit in the Living room was very Low which for older people like us it is difficult to get out of .. Having said that Overall the property was Magnificent. and I would recommend it to anyone ...

Really beautiful cottage, stylish, comfortable and had everything we needed. Each room having an en suite was amazing, the location was perfect and the little hamper was a very welcome and appreciated addition. I want to go back already and stay a bit longer but live in Australia will definitely recommend to friends and family
Fantastic cottage, very comfortable, great beach close by, would definitely return.
It was very easy to feel at home at Jackdaw as it had everything that we needed. Kitchen exceptionally equipped. The garden to the property was larger than expected giving our dog the safe space she needed without wandering off. Constantly changing beach view, amazing!
Great last minute break, thank you.
Jackdaw was a lovely property. Excellent facilities beautiful views.
A high standard cottage, very comfortable with a fantastic view.
A beautiful property in a perfect location. Lovely huge living space. Impressive collection of DVD&39s and books to borrow! A wonderfully wellequipped kitchen, and large neat garden overlooked only by the Castle ghosts!

Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ
about 13 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
Conundrum Farm - EX5 3AQ
about 17 Miles
With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out.  Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals.  Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit.  The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 21 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
