Mount Pleasant Reviews

Sabah
Very lovely house, ideal for a quick getaway. Property was clean and very modern with gorgeous stone feature walls. Modern interiors (built in TV in bed). This has nothing to do with the property but to get to hiking areas you would have to drive between 45mins- 1 hour so bear in mind when booking if you are planning to hike.

This property was perfect for us! Modern, clean and cosy. Had everything you need & wasn't too far away from everything. Definitely more suitable for young couples just because the stairs are a bit tricky, if you have mobility issues you would definitely struggle. The Bath and Shower were great, however the hot water doesn't last very long so if you want a shower, make it quick and if one of you is having a Bath, the other showering will end up in an ice cold shower. Overall it was a great place to stay though, the Bed with the TV was a great feature. You can't park right outside other than to drop off luggage but we managed to park just opposite, up the road every day beside the park. There's a great Pub just up the road, we arrived late our first night and called ahead for Pizza and Sides to takeaway and it was done in 20 minutes and was very tasty. Would definitely stay again.

The property is really well placed to nip over to the lakes and Yorkshire dales. It's very close to the service station, which is really a farm market. Excellent food, coffee and snacks.
Tony
The cottage was ideal for a fit and able couple, the stairs were steep so beware if you have reduced mobility, very modern and warm, bathroom spacious , lovely walk in shower, parking not outside, but across the road ,but close by . Pretty close to the lakes , but all local roads so beware .We tended to drive out and not come back until late , not easy to pop back . overall a nice cottage to stay .
Helen
most other cottages that charge a high cost usually will provide a good welcome pack and something for the dogs. it was nicely renovated upstairs is very nice. the stairs are quite steep and may not be suitable for anyone with reduced mobility
Susan
The cottage was clean and comfortable and better for young couples as we found the 2nd part of the stairs very steep for us.
Karen
Such a lovely, cosy cottage. Clean, fully equipped and very comfortable. Well located for local sights but also great walks from the door. Use the local pub for eat in or takeaway food. Only a couple minutes away. Very good and friendly. A great week away.
Julie
A beautifully refurbished cottage, lots of original character mixed with modern and contemporary design. We loved our stay, had everything we needed. Great location for exploring the lake district, close to M6 and routes into beautiful lakes and villages. Very clean and comfortable.

Old Pleasant was perfect for us. We had a wonderful time exploring the Lake District and it was truly great to come home to such a cozy, relaxing & modern cottage. The large bathtub and the tv in the bedroom made it feel like a luxurious place, but it still had the cozy English cottage feel. The Inn in town had great food and drinks. We would love to stay here again in the future.
Gary
Overall a lovely place to stay which has been well thought out inside and out. Would certainly stay there again.
Melissa
Stunning cottage. Bed was super comfy & built in tv was a treat. Bathroom was fantastic (apart from lack of hot water). Easy to find. Great location. Not completely sure the shared access garden works tbh. Would definitely recommend though.
Nichole
Stayed here for 3 nights to switch off from the world for a few days. Perfect little space for the two of us and our two dogs. Great walks on the doorstep, recommend the pizza at the pub nearby and access to walks in the lakes. Enclosed garden for the dogs was great. Cottage had everything we needed and was well done out!
Aileen
Beautiful little house, nice furnishings, well equipped, quite location, easy parking. Lovely re established brick wall and beams. Although there is a log burner the main source of heat is electricity.
Sue
Lovely cosy cottage. Great neighbours. Walking distance to nice pub with good food.
Melissa
We had a fabulous time at the cottage. Very comfortable and well presented. Secure garden area for our 2 dogs to use. Great location for exploring the Dales and Lakes and some great walks starting just over the road. The very dog friendly Cross Keys Inn has amazing food and cocktails with very friendly staff. The takeaway pizzas from the pub were great and just a short walk from the cottage. Bring supplies for the first night as there are no local shops in tebay itself (milk tea sugar etc are provided) although the old tebay services was in driving distance with great farm shop food. The neighbours were very friendly too. We will definitely be booking again.

The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 26 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 29 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
