About Carterhouse Annex

Nested in an idyllic splendid rural setting amid wonderful rolling hills and breath-taking countryside scenery. Situated just 2 miles from Northumberland’s National Park an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the immediate area perfect for outdoor pursuits and wildlife spotting.

Easy reach of the historic town of Jedburgh (9miles) with excellent amenities and attractions including Jedburgh Abbey, a majestic 12th-century ruin that offers a glimpse into Scotland’s medieval past. Mary Queen of Scots' Visitor Centre, a museum in a 16th-century tower house, where the famous Queen stayed during her turbulent reign.

Jedburgh Castle Jail and Museum, offers insights into 19th-century prison life and the history of the town. Kielder Water & Forest Park (20miles) offers an array of water sports and some of the most challenging mountain bike trails in the UK or enjoy stargazing in Europe's largest Dark Sky Park!

Relax on the sofas after a day out exploring and admire the wonderful valley views or enjoy a great movie on the Smart TV. Directly adjacent is a handy separate WC.

Leading through you are then met with the very well-equipped stylish kitchen, perfect for cooking up a storm with a comfortable dining area to enjoy romantic or family gatherings. Followed by the utility room with direct access out the enclosed garden.

Heading up the stairs there are two spacious bedrooms. A king-size and a twin, both with ample storage space and beautiful countryside views.

Finally completing the accommodation is the contemporary bathroom with free-standing bath, separate shower cubical and WC. Venturing outside to the enclosed mature garden, a perfect space for dogs to enjoy with seating areas for al fresco dining and lazy evening star gazing amid the breath-taking scenery.

Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT

Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX

Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
