About Old Pulteney

Venture 2 miles into bustling Hawick to meander through independent shops and dine out in a choice of eateries. Visit the famous Borders Textile Towerhouse, 2.5 miles away, where you can learn about the area’s knitwear and tweed industries.

Also make time to tour the Borders Distillery, the same distance away, to find out how Scottish whisky is made and sample a wee dram. Take any pets in your party to Wilton Lodge Park, 3 miles away, to enjoy riverside walks.

Head out to the magnificent Ale Water Valley, 9.5 miles from the lodge, to follow more scenic footpaths, go horse riding or indulge in a little golf or fishing. Make your way into this dog-friendly, detached lodge to find yourselves in a bright and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with views out across your undulating surroundings.

Pull back the glass doors on warm days so everyone can wander seamlessly out into the fresh Scottish air. Settle on the comfortable, grey seating to take in the glorious outlook, find your favourite show on the Smart TV or watch a DVD.

There is a collection here to choose from. Otherwise, simply relax, chat and listen to music through the Bluetooth speaker.

The kitchen area has also been completed to ensure you have everything you need. Rustle up tasty meals here to enjoy inside or out.

As night falls on each day of your stay in Scotland, amble through to one of your three bedrooms. These include two enticing doubles, one of which has an en-suite shower room.

Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT

Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.

Kailzie Gardens are another popular attraction and are an excellent place for a day out in the summertime. The gardens are a peaceful and colourful place to spend the day with a wide variety of flora and fauna on display. Other attractions here include live viewing of the Tweed Valley ospreys, a Gift Shop where children can pick up a souvenir, a Tearoom serving tasty local produce and home cooked meals, a Children's Corner, Putting Green, and a gorgeous private 2½ mile stretch on the River Tweed where visitors can enjoy Fly Fishing and a Picnic Area.
