Popular local towns include the charming Gatehouse of Fleet (5 miles), the ‘artists’ town’ of Kirkcudbright (12 miles) and the ever-popular foodie destination of Castle Douglas (18 miles), all ready to welcome you for slow afternoons after days spent exploring Galloway Forest Park (8 miles) and its nature reserves, woodland walks and hilltops.
