About The Tottie Hut

Delightful, boutique hut, nestled in an idyllic countryside position in the private orchard of a 60-acre working equestrian centre, with a local polo club and trout fishery less than 1 mile away. The picture-postcard coastal villages of South Queensferry (2 miles) and North Queensferry (5 miles) boast an array of quality eateries, coffee shops, friendly inns, bespoke shops, beaches and the Fife Coastal Path to explore, as well as the award-winning Deep-Sea World.

The elegant city of Edinburgh is only 7 miles away and is easily accessible by train (3 miles) or park-and-ride (6 miles). Edinburgh offers an abundance of leisure facilities and attractions including Edinburgh Castle, National Art Galleries, Royal Botanic Gardens and renowned festivals including the Fringe, Tattoo, Christmas Market, Murrayfield rugby matches, and an array of concerts and events.

Or visit the Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel (15 miles), and Knockhill Racing Circuit (17 miles). Step inside this charming and luxurious shepherd’s hut from the secluded, enclosed garden into the open-plan living area.

Relax on the comfortable chairs after a day out exploring the coast or city and watch a great movie on the Smart TV. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen area.

Enjoy romantic moments in the dining area and plan the day ahead. The comfortable bedroom area has a lovely king-size bed with ample storage space.

Completing the accommodation is the gorgeous shower room with a large shower cubicle and WC. Outside, in the fully enclosed garden, there is an outdoor dining area with a Weber charcoal BBQ and a bistro set for al fresco dining or lazy evening stargazing, with a lovely fire pit – ideal for those cooler evenings.

There is also a wood-fired private hot tub to relax and unwind in, and a sauna just a short stroll away on the other side of the orchard. Set inside a 60 acre working equestrian yard with beautiful landscape views, guests may enjoy wandering over to see the horses grazing in their paddocks or watch horses being trained in the nearby arenas – and on occasion, you may be lucky enough to catch a small dressage or show jumping competition taking place during your stay (once a month).

The Tottie Hut Reviews

Jamie
We had a lovely stay in this cosy shepherd's hut! Perfectly situated for exploring South Queensferry, Edinburghand beyond, with easy access to major roads. The walks around Dundas Castle Estate are stunning and great for a bit of fresh air. Watching the horses and riders on the busy yard was quite fun too. The secure garden was a big plus for our dogand the hut itself is well-equipped and nicely presented. Definitely a spot we'd return to!

We had a lovely stay at The Tottie Hut. The private garden is a real highlight - fully enclosed and perfect for our dog to roam safely. The cabin itself is cosy, warmand well-equipped with everything we needed, from the fridge to the small TV. The peaceful location made it a perfect escapeand all the staff we met were super friendly and helpful. They even created a WhatsApp group so we could get quick answers to any questions, which was a great touch. Definitely recommend!

Smoo Cave - IV27 4QB
about 10 Miles
Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months.  This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.
Kailzie Gardens - EH45 9HT
about 26 Miles
Kailzie Gardens are another popular attraction and are an excellent place for a day out in the summertime. The gardens are a peaceful and colourful place to spend the day with a wide variety of flora and fauna on display. Other attractions here include live viewing of the Tweed Valley ospreys, a Gift Shop where children can pick up a souvenir, a Tearoom serving tasty local produce and home cooked meals, a Children's Corner, Putting Green, and a gorgeous private 2½ mile stretch on the River Tweed where visitors can enjoy Fly Fishing and a Picnic Area.
M&D's Scotland's Theme Park - ML1 3RT
about 26 Miles
M&D's, Scotland's Family Theme Park is a "must do" day out if you are in the Strathclyde region. The fun attraction is set within 20 acres of beautiful Country Park and offers rides, shows and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Besides the outdoor rides the site is also home to Amazonia - Scotland's only indoor Tropical Rainforest where visitors can meet loads of exotic animals. There is also a large indoor soft play area and an amazing glow in the dark bowling alley, so plenty to do if the weather is bad. During December Scotland's largest Grotto with animated Christmas scenes can also be enjoyed.
