For a dose of heritage, the Wheal Martyn Clay Works ( 3.5 miles) dives into Cornwall’s china clay mining past, with walking paths around old clay pits and a cafe to recharge. You can also enjoy a peaceful walk to Menacuddle Well (5 miles), tucked away in woodland – it’s a historic holy well with a calming atmosphere.
