We chose this place hoping for an enclosed garden, but sadly it's not. The website photos are quite outdated - the trees are so overgrown now that they block all the sunlight, which was a bit disappointing. The BBQ is completely rusted and unusable, more like a fire pit really. The TV doesn't work properly unless you have your own streaming accounts, which isn't ideal. Also, the shower room had mould that really should've been cleaned. We ended up tidying the patio ourselves because there were lots of leaves and cobwebs everywhere. Not what we expected, unfortunately.

We loved this spot for a peaceful escape, especially the coastal walks nearby. Watching sunsets in the hot tub with a glass of wine was just perfect. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our stay here! The bed was super comfy, ensuring a great night's sleep. The owner and housekeeper were so attentive, making us feel really welcome. Would definitely come back, but don't want it too busy!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Retreat! It's a cosy, well-equipped place that felt like a home from home, perfect for our dog Mollie too. The location is great for exploring North Devon's coast and countryside. The hot tub was a real highlightand relaxing on the balcony in the sun was lovely. We'd definitely recommend Miss Feas in Mortehoe for a nice meal out!

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families. There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings. Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast". There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga. As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
