About Islwyn House

Within half a mile of the town and harbour, this is the perfect base for soaking up the charm of Aberaeron. Enjoy morning strolls along the beautiful waterfront here.

Stop for a scoop of the town’s famous honey ice cream before setting off along the Ceredigion Coast Path, where clifftop views and hidden coves make every step an adventure. New Quay (7 miles) is the perfect spot for a family day by the sea, with golden sands to play on and boat trips that offer the chance to spot dolphins gliding through Cardigan Bay.

Historians will enjoy diving deeper into Welsh heritage at the National Wool Museum (18 miles), which reveals the story of the country’s rich textile traditions, offering an immersive glimpse into the past.

Step through the front door of this stand-out holiday cottage and hang up your coats in the hallway. A reception room on the right is a cosy space to play board games, watch the TV or simply kick back on the sofa.

The heart of the home is to the left: the living room. This neutral-toned space is perfect for cosying up in front of the crackling wood burner or catching up with a new box set.

Go down the steps to the country-style kitchen and use your appliances to rustle up tasty, home-cooked feasts, which can be enjoyed around the dining table adjacent to the kitchen. A split staircase leads to the first floor, which leads left to two delightful king bedrooms with cosy furnishings and storage space.

To the right of the stairs sits an airy twin bedroom decorated in earthy tones. Enjoy an invigorating shower in the shower room or a leisurely soak in the bathroom, both of which sit on this floor.

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
