Located on the mountainside overlooking Kidwelly in a village called Mynyddygarreg where you can discover the delights of Kidwelly Castle (2 miles), an imposing medieval fortress with towers to climb and plenty for kids to explore while the grown-ups enjoy learning about its vibrant past. Just a short drive takes you to Pembrey Country Park (6. 5 miles), where there’s everything from glorious walking trails, a vast beach, lengthy toboggan runs and even a dry ski slope, so there’s always something to keep everyone entertained.

About Court House Kidwelly

This is a brilliant spot for groups who want the coast, countryside, and castles rolled into one easy getaway. Located on the mountainside overlooking Kidwelly in a village called Mynyddygarreg where you can discover the delights of Kidwelly Castle (2 miles), an imposing medieval fortress with towers to climb and plenty for kids to explore while the grown-ups enjoy learning about its vibrant past.

Just a short drive takes you to Pembrey Country Park (6.5 miles), where there’s everything from glorious walking trails, a vast beach, lengthy toboggan runs and even a dry ski slope, so there’s always something to keep everyone entertained. Enjoy long afternoons bathing on the golden sands of Cefn Sidan Beach (7 miles) or travel a little further and spend the day at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (30 miles), always a winner with kids and grown-ups alike.

Step into this warm, welcoming property and find yourselves instantly drawn into the inviting lounge/diner, where neutral tones and soft lighting set a relaxing atmosphere from the get-go. After long beach adventures, unwind on the sofas, light the wood burner, and gather around the dining table for long, laughter-filled meals and games nights.

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
Merlin Hill Centre - SA67 8BP

Merlin Hill Centre is a working dairy farm located deep in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Although not a petting farm the farm is still very family friendly with plenty of fun activities to keep children happy. The farm has a good sized play area and plenty of picnic tables as well as a Farmyard Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Welsh farm life and about the mystical Legend of Merlin. Get there early if you want to watch the cows being milked!
Dinefwr Park and Castle - SA19 6RT

Dinefwr Park and Castle is the perfect place to come if you like the great outdoors. These stunning ruins are one of the areas most iconic landmarks and are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife of all descriptions. There is also a 17th century mansion to explore with grand rooms and wonderful exhibits of paintings and tapestries. The gardens feature amazing floral displays and there is also a delightful Tea Room. Children can let of steam on the adventure playground.

The Dinosaur Park is located in Tenby and makes the perfect family day out.  Activities on offer include fossil hunting, Dino Crafts, Pat a Pet and the treasure hunt.  For both toddlers and older kids there's an indoor adventure playground, ideal when the weather is not on your side.  The high-tec activity centre is always popular with interactive fun and education.  New in 2010 is Hooplasaurus.  Check out their website for the latest admission prices and what's on when you plan to visit.

Pembroke Castle is thought to be the birthplace of the Tudor dynasty and is an excellent choice for a family day trip. The castle one of the areas most iconic landmarks and features an amazing 75ft high Great Tower! Visitors can also take a tour of the Norman Hall and the Exhibition Rooms where the displays change regularly. There is also a Picnic area and plenty of open space for children to run around in the grounds and gardens. The site also has a cafe and a gift shop.
