About Red Rums Retreat

This beautifully renovated former racehorse lorry provides a memorable glamping escape for couples or solo travellers. The property, featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces, sits within a working farm with horses near Haverfordwest (2 miles).

It’s surrounded by peaceful countryside and within easy reach of Pembrokeshire's spectacular coastline – and just 1.5 miles from a well-loved chippy, too. Once used by a local racehorse trainer to transport up to five horses around the UK, the vehicle has now been transformed into a stylish holiday retreat.

The coast is never far away, with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (5.5 miles) offering excellent walks, and the golden sands of Newgale and Broad Haven just 6.5 miles and 7.5 miles away respectively. Enjoy a day exploring the Victorian house and woodland walks at Scolton Manor (6.5 miles), or spend time discovering Haverfordwest's independent shops, vintage cinema and popular Friday Farmers' market.

You’ll arrive along a farm lane, passing resident pony paddocks before reaching an attractive red-brick farmhouse and dedicated parking area. At the lorry, climb six steps to reach the glazed front door.

Inside, you'll immediately notice the clever design and thoughtful finishing touches that make this conversion so special, including equine-related artwork to further set the scene. The open-plan living space has a comfortable lounge with a leather sofa and wood burner to keep you cosy on chilly nights.

For cooking, you’ll have a small-but-perfectly-formed kitchen complete with a built-in wooden dining bench for sitting down to breakfasts and evening meals. You’ll sleep at the front of the lorry, where the original driver's cab has been transformed into an inviting double bedroom, with the bed tucked neatly into the cab area (please note there is reduced head height here and the bed can only be accessed from one side).
