We spent Christmas in the Bull Pens and honestly, it was brilliant. The place is really well kept and the rooms are spacious with lovely decor, making everything feel cosy and inviting. The Christmas touches like the tree and lights added a magical vibe. We loved the wood-burning stove; it made the whole place super warm and perfect for evening board games. It's pretty remote, but still close enough to Brecon for a quick trip out. Definitely a stay we'd do again!

There's a great play area for the kids and nice walks nearby to soak in the beautiful views. The kitchen has exceptional equipment, even including a slow cooker! Plus, the hot tub is such a nice bonus. Overall, a lovely stay.

This beautiful double cottage is perfect for 8 people! The hot tub isn't great, but the rest is just lovely. The kitchen is roomy and well equipped. We loved having a table big enough for all of us to eat together. It is really remote here. There are no takeaways or pubs around - and no phone reception! The views are amazingand the stars in the dark skies above are just awesome.

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.

Dinefwr Park and Castle is the perfect place to come if you like the great outdoors. These stunning ruins are one of the areas most iconic landmarks and are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife of all descriptions. There is also a 17th century mansion to explore with grand rooms and wonderful exhibits of paintings and tapestries. The gardens feature amazing floral displays and there is also a delightful Tea Room. Children can let of steam on the adventure playground.

Rhondda Heritage Park - CF37 2NP

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street. Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.
