About Bwlch Farm Lodge

With picturesque views from nearly every window and a tranquil setting, it offers the perfect mix of countryside charm and modern comfort, complete with a private hot tub and a roaring wood burner.

The open-plan lounge/diner exudes warmth and charm, with a crackling wood burner to create a cosy haven after a day of exploring. The country-style kitchen nods to the building’s heritage, providing all you need to prepare hearty meals using local produce.

A contemporary downstairs wet room is ideal for rinsing off after tackling the nearby trails. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom features a Juliet balcony offering sea views, plus a Smart TV for relaxing evenings.

The remaining bedrooms include a flexible twin and a family room with a flexible super-king-size bed, an additional single bed for children and a Smart TV. At the end of the day, indulge in a soak in the elegant free-standing bath in the family bathroom.

Outside, the private patio is a lovely spot to enjoy morning coffee as the sun rises or toast the sunset with your favourite drink. Unwind in the bubbling hot tub while soaking up the rural surroundings.

Additional conveniences include private parking for three cars and secure bike storage. Situated between Port Talbot and Afan Forest Park, this property is a dream for outdoor enthusiasts.

Afan Forest Park, 11.5 miles away, boasts over 130 miles of mountain biking trails, a visitor centre, and a cafe. Thrill-seekers can head to Zip World Tower, 22 miles away, for an adrenaline-packed adventure in the Rhigos mountain range.

For a more relaxed day out, Port Talbot’s expansive sands are 3.5 miles away.

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.  Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.
Dinefwr Park and Castle - SA19 6RT

Dinefwr Park and Castle is the perfect place to come if you like the great outdoors. These stunning ruins are one of the areas most iconic landmarks and are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife of all descriptions. There is also a 17th century mansion to explore with grand rooms and wonderful exhibits of paintings and tapestries. The gardens feature amazing floral displays and there is also a delightful Tea Room. Children can let of steam on the adventure playground.

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
Merlin Hill Centre - SA67 8BP

Merlin Hill Centre is a working dairy farm located deep in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Although not a petting farm the farm is still very family friendly with plenty of fun activities to keep children happy. The farm has a good sized play area and plenty of picnic tables as well as a Farmyard Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Welsh farm life and about the mystical Legend of Merlin. Get there early if you want to watch the cows being milked!

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.
