Tucked away amid rolling South Wales countryside, this charming cottage for two offers a peaceful hideaway surrounded by natural beauty. Set near Newport, it’s well placed for couples keen to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park (20 miles), browse the shops and restaurants of Newport (11 miles), or enjoy a day out in bustling Cardiff (18 miles).

Closer to home, you can head out on scenic walking and cycling trails or try one of the outdoor adventures arranged by the owners, such as canoeing or rock climbing. Spend a relaxed afternoon around Cwmbran Boating Lake (15 miles), enjoy gentle strolls through Sirhowy Valley Country Park (3.5 miles), or venture to Caerphilly (10 miles) to visit its town centre and impressive medieval castle.

Afterwards, return to the local pub for a hearty home-cooked meal, served with superb hillside views. Enter this single-storey property, which features an accessible layout and underfloor heating throughout.

You'll first discover the kitchen/diner, which provides sleek counters, modern appliances, and distinct wooden finishes, including the inviting bench-style table. The lounge is positioned off the kitchen/diner and has soft seating and a Smart TV for evenings of unwinding.

It's also flooded with light here, thanks to the patio doors leading out to the garden. When it's time to call it a day, the king-size bedroom welcomes you with its solid bed frame and ample storage for clothes.

There's also a sofa bed in the living area, suitable for two additional guests. Serving the bedroom and completing the interior is a wet room with an open shower and WC.

Step outside and find plenty to keep you entertained when the sun shines. Enjoy long soaks in the private wood-fired hot tub, and make use of other shared facilities, including a BBQ/fire pit area with seating, and a children’s play area.
