Cardiff is 18 miles away, with waterfront restaurants, museums, cultural attractions and plenty of places to browse.

Nature lovers will enjoy being within easy reach of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (20 miles), where mountain scenery, driving routes and walking trails create the ideal setting for a day outdoors. Closer to home, Caerphilly (8 miles) is well worth a visit for its castle, independent cafes and Welsh heritage.

Meanwhile, the market town of Abergavenny (22 miles), known as the gateway to the Brecon Beacons, offers good food, local shopping and lovely countryside. Set entirely on one level, this retreat has been designed for comfortable living.
