Located in a beautiful, wooded gorge overlooking the River Derwent, this luxurious Grade II-listed former hotel provides a fabulous venue for a group reunion or large family celebration. This magnificent Georgian building offers superb accommodation for up to 34 guests across 15 gorgeous en-suite bedrooms. This stunning property is set in a breathtaking location near Matlock Bath, along the south-eastern corner of the Peak District, and offers an immense array of imaginative extras including two hot tubs, a games room and a traditional private pub. Entering this unique property, the elegant entrance hall leads through to the fantastic pub and games room, a fantastic party space with a music system, kitchenette and bar, where you try can your hand at karaoke or the piano, or play pool, table tennis and air hockey. The south wing has a cosy snug, an exquisite lounge bar, the main lounge which enjoys glorious panoramic views, an elegant and superbly equipped main kitchen and the Byron Room, a sumptuous dining room, also with stunning views. A lovely well decorated house with really stunning views.Kitchen had everything we needed. Tea, coffee , sugar and individually wrapped biscuits provided. Another helpful added touch would have been to have provided a small bottle of milk . A great house with the benefit of being in a small town with local pubs & shops. Also a great view of the countryside where you can walk to (Black Rocks). Ample parking for our 2 cars. As is in a town you do get road noise if youre not used to that.

Really beautiful house with all the facilities you need while on holiday there. The house was exceptionally clean with comfy beds and finished to a high standard. We loved the hot tub and outside areas which we were able to enjoy in the sunshine. The house is in a good location and we enjoyed meals in, as well as The Boat Inn, The Greyhound and Par kys which are all within a few minutes walk. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend and hope to return :)

The house is perfectly situated for dog walkers and people who love to walk with a view. Quite hilly but worth it. The house has such a lovely view sat in the garden or front room. The hottub was great. We will definitely be back. Good walks Cromford canal (beautiful), black rocks just 20 min very hilly walk, Mathlock Bath 20 mins walk. Or both jus t a couple of mins in car.

We stayed at Dawn's House for a long weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday and we could not have picked a better place to stay! The house itself is beautifully decorated and comfortable, just like a home from home. There were thoughtful little touches throughout, from the chocolates and biscuits to the face masks and bubblebath. The location is abso lutely stunning and there is so much to do in the local area. We would absolutely recommend staying here and we will definitely be coming back to stay

We had a lovely holidays in this little cottage with such a nice view. I love to watch sunrise from the window. I love design of this place, everything is practical, beautiful and comfortable. Its nice to be there with children and dogs. I enjoyed go for a quiet walk with dogs through the woods, walk path has started just outside of the door. So mu ch to do with little ones. There are tramway village and Gullivers park so close. Our 4 years old loved it:) I would recommend this place:)

Really lovely property, very clean, tidy, welcoming and family friendly it was home from home, it is also conveniently located. We didn't have the key safe details and the owners kindly texted us these which was really helpful. They also have a folder with very helpful information about facilities in the area

Beautiful little house in great location for exploring this beautiful part of the world. The beds are so comfy (Emma mattresses) that we all had the best nights sleep. The hot tub is an absolute highlight, and after a long day of walking the gorgeous countryside, relaxing with music in the tub with all the jets - bliss! The small village of Cromfor d is gorgeous (the view over the mill pond is just lovely) and we had a great night out at The Boat on quiz night - cheesy chips and cake for free!

Gulliver's Kingdome is a family friendly theme park offering many attractions for children of all ages. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. For the little ones there are rides such as the veteran cars and the balloon wheel and Diego and Dora the Explorer are on hand to make sure they are having a great time. Between the 21st and 31st of October the park becomes a spooky Halloween spectacular with a range of shows and fireworks to enjoy. Standard prices are £12.00 for adults and children over 90cm. Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT

This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
Denby Visitor Centre - DE5 8NX

Denby visitor centre is a fun day out in the Derbyshire region with an array of activities iunder one roof.  An all weather attraction you can take pottery tours, see cookery demonstrations and visit Bourne's restaurant.  There are events and offers on throughout the year for example the Denby factory Shops sale where you can save £££s and October Creepy Crypt for Halloween where you can go along in fancy dress and have your face painted.  Booking is advised so check out the latest details on their website.

The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
Crazy Crocodiles Indoor Play & Party Centre - LL30 1DR
about 13 Miles
This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire.  With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children.  The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families.  Look out for offers on their website such as a free hot drink on select days.
Alton Towers - ST10 4DB

Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun.
