Set on a working farm estate surrounded by glorious countryside, this delightful barn conversion provides a fantastic spot for families and friends enjoying an idyllic break in a picturesque corner of Herefordshire. With ample space for up to seven guests, the property is surrounded by acres of farmland, with quiet lanes and scenic footpaths.

Exploring the area further, the historic city of Hereford (5 miles) is to the north, with its stunning cathedral and a range of attractions including Aylestone Park, the Museum of Cider and Hereford Racecourse. Heading east, the River Wye (9 miles) offers opportunities for fishing, canoeing and leisurely walks.

To the south-east, the stunning Wye Valley National Landscape leads down to the Forest of Dean (20 miles) offering some wonderful vistas for you to discover. Other local attractions include Goodrich Castle, Puzzlewood and the popular book town of Hay-on-Wye, all within 20 miles.

Stepping inside this beautifully reimagined barn, you will be greeted by the elegantly furnished open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with exposed stonework, oak beams and limestone flooring. The cosy and traditional lounge has a Smart TV and comfortable seating, perfect for unwinding in after a day’s adventures.

At the other end of the room, the handsome dining area provides a fantastic spot for sharing a family feast which you can rustle up in the light-filled, thoughtfully arranged bespoke crafted kitchen. The ground floor also features the first of the property’s four pretty bedrooms: a relaxing double with exposed brickwork and light pouring in through the original stable doors.

This room has an en-suite wet room, and the property has an additional ground-floor WC. Heading up the oak staircase, the galleried landing on the first floor leads to three further bedrooms, all with original wooden beams.

At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.

Puzzlewood - GL16 8QB

Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.

Spetchley Park and Gardens in Worcestershire are the perfect place for a day trip all year round. During the summer months the gardens are really at their best with beautiful displays of flora and fauna. Many families choose to bring a picnic and there are several picnic tables in the grounds.
