Just over the border into Shropshire is the market town of Ludlow (16 miles) with its medieval castle, a food enthusiast’s paradise due to its bustling farmers’ market and food centre bursting with local produce.

There are many National Trust gardens that are open seasonally within easy reach including Berrington Hall ( 9.5 miles) and Brockhampton Estate (15 miles) and Croft Castle (17 miles). A long tree-lined drive winds through the estate where you will find the cottage peacefully tucked away.
