Stud Farm House is an impressive nine-bedroom holiday retreat tucked away in the peaceful outskirts of Bleddfa, near Knighton in Powys. With generous interiors, luxurious touches and plenty of space to unwind, it’s an ideal base for gathering extended family or reconnecting with friends in the heart of rural Wales.

Step inside to find a well-equipped kitchen at the heart of the home, perfect for preparing hearty group meals, with a handy utility room nearby offering a washing machine, tumble dryer and extra storage space. When it’s time to relax, choose from not one but two snug rooms, one on each floor, alongside a sociable dining room and an inviting living room, just right for slow evenings and good conversation.

The sleeping arrangements are designed with comfort in mind, offering a mix of super-king and king-size bedrooms across the property, with two benefiting from en-suite facilities and one spacious family bedroom with four singles. A family bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi bath invites long soaks after a day out, while a separate shower room ensures there’s space for everyone to get ready without fuss.

Downstairs, underfloor heating keeps toes toasty no matter the season. Outside, a large garden offers space for both play and peace, with the real showstopper being the magnificent hot tub, an ideal spot for stargazing or soaking up the surrounding countryside.

Two well-behaved furry friends are also welcome to join the fun. Set in the quiet village of Bleddfa, the house makes a great jumping-off point for exploring the borderlands of Powys.

Just a short drive brings you to Knighton, home of the Offa’s Dyke Centre and independent shops, while walkers and cyclists will find the Radnor Forest and Glyndŵr’s Way on the doorstep. You might fancy a day trip to the Elan Valley for its striking reservoirs and scenic routes, or visit the charming market town of Ludlow, famous for its food scene and historic castle.

Queenswood Country Park has a stunning location offering panoramic views of the countryside. The area is abundant with wildlife and you can see how many species you can spot while enjoying the nature trails. The park also has a large children play area and a licensed café. Seasonal activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and at peak times of the year including Halloween events and crafting sessions as well as ranger led walks.
Powis Castle and Gardens - SY21 8RF

This National Trust site is one of the finest in Wales. The stunning castle was once a medieval fortress and has been remodelled several times over the last 400 years. The Great Hall is home to some amazing collections of paintings as well as sculptures and tapestries. Children's activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and on special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas.

At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.
