You’ll be just 0.5 miles from the beach, pier and traditional beach huts at The Little Shore, along with a tempting choice of shops, cafes and some of the region’s best restaurants.

Stroll 1 mile along the Coquet Estuary to reach the medieval village of Warkworth, where you can visit the castle, relax in one of four welcoming pubs and wander a spectacular 5-mile stretch of golden sand. Wildlife lovers will enjoy Hauxley Nature Reserve 2 miles south, while Alnwick (8 miles), Craster and Embleton (both within 14 miles) are perfect for day trips.

Further inland, you can explore Rothbury (20 miles), the Simonside Hills and Ingram Valley (both within 25 miles). The property has space for eight, making it wonderful for family or group trips.

On arrival, step through the front door and leave your coats and shoes in the welcoming hallway. The kitchen is bright and west-facing, with French doors opening onto the garden, a breakfast bar for perching with coffee, and a dining table seating eight.

Underfloor heating provides year-round warmth. The adjoining snug is one of two lounge spaces, allowing your group to spread out – it has two sofas and a Smart TV with a PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii perfect for kids.

Upstairs, the airy lounge is a standout feature, with full-width bi-fold doors leading onto a balcony for soaking up those coastal views with a coffee or evening tipple. There are four bedrooms – two king-size rooms (both with en-suite shower rooms and one with sea views), a double bedroom, and a cosy twin – plus a family bathroom and separate WC.

Outside, the enclosed west-facing garden has an artificial lawn, comfortable seating for eight, a BBQ and a private hot tub with feature lighting. Parking for two cars is provided on the drive, with additional roadside parking and a free car park opposite.

Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ

Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.

Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
