This spacious and stylish coastal property in Amble is a fantastic base for a seaside escape with friends or family. The upside-down layout makes the most of the surrounding views, with living space upstairs and bedrooms below.
Right opposite the cottage (100 metres) lies Little Shore Beach, while Amble’s circular pier (350 metres) has wonderful views across the water towards Coquet Island, home to puffins and roseate terns – take a boat trip there from Amble Harbour (0.5 miles). The town itself is packed with excellent seafood restaurants, welcoming cafes and independent shops, all within 0.5 mile.
You might catch the lively Sunday market or visit during the annual Puffin Festival held each May. Other local highlights include Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre (2.5 miles) with its eco-friendly visitor building and cafe, Druridge Bay Country Park (3.5 miles) with its lake and sandy shoreline, and the quieter stretch of Cresswell Beach (10 miles).
Step through the front door and leave your outdoor footwear before entering the ground-floor hallway, which leads to three beautifully presented bedrooms. One is a spacious super-king-size room with lovely sea views to wake up to, plus an en-suite shower room.
The other two king-size bedrooms each open onto the enclosed patio via French doors and have their own en-suite shower rooms. Two of the rooms can be made into twins on prior request.
The formal dining room is also on this level and has an extendable table for sociable mealtimes, complete with chafing dishes to keep food warm when serving a group. A separate WC sits just off this room, and there’s a handy utility area.
From here, you can step out through the back door to the bubbling hot tub. Head upstairs to the impressive open-plan lounge and kitchen, which has wide views towards the harbour and beach.
