Butterfly Lodge Reviews

Denise
Lodge was perfect in every way. Only thing in the heat a fan would of been nice to put on.
Butterfly lodge No25 was extremely pleasant and well kept. We did enjoy our stay. We did have a couple of issues mainly the onsuite bathroom, the smell that was coming through either the toilet or shower drain was unbearable we had to cover all holes and the door to try and stop the smell, after the first night we never entered the ensuite again until we left. Also the double bed, the slats holding the mattress kept falling out this happened several times.
We had a problem with the temperature of the water in the bathroom, we had to boil the kettle several times to make the bath hot enough, which was strange because the temperature of the water in the kitchen was much hotter. There was a strange smell which would come at irregular intervals that was very strong and unpleasant so this was a bit off putting. It was a lovely quiet place in a nice area and good value for money during the Easter period.
A beautiful stay at Butterfly lodge. If youre looking for some peace and quiet and lots of countryside walks, this lodge is for you. The lodge itself was lovely and clean, the hot tub was the perfect temperature and even hot when we arrived! A very relaxing and peaceful stay and I would recommend. However the main bathroom light was flickering constantly when we used it and we could on occasion smell drains in the lodge thinking it mightve been from the ensuite bathroom. All issues that will be fixed Im sure and vey minor also. We really did have a lovely time, theres a retail park about 10minutes drive away where you can get everything you need. Youre also only a short drive away from some lovely walking destinations such as Hawes Waterfall and The Druids Temple.

Lovely lodge had a lovely stay, we were snowed in o the day of departure, Spoke the owners who were fantastic and said stay until we could get out which was a nice gestureto which we are grateful for. The Lodge had everything you could need to ensure a fantastic stay

We had a lovely stay over the Christmas

The hot tub wasnt available for use on the first night as hadnt been switched on early enough so was far too cold until the following day. Outside light at the front is not working. The 4 keys arent labelled so difficult to know which one to use each time. The towels had a musty smell to them but the bedding was lovely and clean and smelled fine. There were a few hairs on the toilet and around the bathroom and one of the toilets was unclean. Other than that we had a great stay and everything else was just as advertised. Everything thats needed for a stay was at the lodge and the heating was suitable for this time of year restricted at 22 degrees. Would go again.

Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 6 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 12 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY
about 17 Miles
This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
