Great little rural property with all amenities. Had a very warm welcome from the friendly owners, who were happy to give advice on places to walk and visit. Would recommend for a quiet getaway
Debbie
This is a lovely mill and the hosts are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The hot tub is one of the best we have used and is extremely clean and well maintained. Lots to see locally so a perfect stay.
This was a great retreat and was so nice and peaceful, the hosts were the best just like staying with friends but totally private if you want . Hot tub is perfect after a day out . Nice to have some supplies waiting and proper kitchen equipment. The lanes are small but never met any other traffic so not a problem and only a few minutes away from civilisation for shopping
The property was lovely clean and tidy. Lovely welcome and tour round when we got there by the owner. It is a remote site and the roads are narrow leading there, but once you are there it is well worth the drive. The property is well kitted out with everything you need, and the hot tub is great. There are a few steps leading to the property and down to the bedrooms but no issue. We had a fantastic week there, and would definitely go back.
We had a lovely 2 weeks at the cottage with our teenage daughters. I thought 2 weeks might be too long but we all had a great time at the cottage and local villages and beaches. The cottage was a great base and has everything you need, enjoyed the beautiful views from the top floor and hot tub. The WiFi was very good thanks to starlink which was great. Thanks to Julia and Paul for all the friendly help, advice and service, lovely people.
Stephen
Fantastic place and wonderful owners. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we had a wonderful week. The view from the terrace and the lounge is incredible and the hot tub was the best one we have used at any rental property. If you want peace and quiet then is the ideal property Steve and Pauline
This is a lovely property with attentive owners who are on site if you have any queries. We were lucky enough to have lovely weather so made use of the hot tub which is heated and ready use at any time. The outside areas have all you need for a relaxing stay including table chairs parasols recliners and gas BBQ. The owners left us some goodies in the fridge including cheese and fresh apple juice. It was lovely to look out on the fields and see the cows chickens and pheasants. Totally recommend this holiday home.

Wow! Monkleigh Mill is a hidden gem with wonderful views. The house and grounds were perfect. The small mnage of animals were great, I got to cuddle one of the super funny and chatty chickens. The hot tub was super relaxing. Julia and Paul were amazing hosts. When they found out it was my birthday they gave me a lovely bottle of Prosecco. Hope to be back soon.

A fantastic cottage that is fully equipped with great views over the countryside. The hot tub and log burner are great after a day out exploring. Julia and Paul are really attentive as owners and can't do enough to ensure you have a great stay. We would highly recommend this cottage.
We absolutely loved this place! In a stunning, peaceful location with a fully equipped kitchen. Had everything we needed. We all loved the hot tub. We hope to come back one day. My children 13 & 9 would have preferred separate beds, rather than having to share a double and would have liked a bigger TV in the family room
Raymond

Jeanette
Paul and Julia are fabulous hosts, they definitely go above and beyond, nothing is too much trouble, they could not be more welcoming. Monkleigh Mill is a charming, well equipped comfortable property. It is delightfully quite and peaceful with bird song and country views for company. My best friend and I had a lovely stay, a huge thank you to both X
Amanda
We had a severe fly infestation and needed to spray fly spray all the time, wasnt pleasant to come back to a bedroom full of flys and have to de fumigate 3 times a day. The house was so hot on arrival and was told to keep windows shut by Julia because flies get in. Paul and Julia did open the windows and put netting over but flies seemed to be coming from bedroom. Once house was cooler, there did not seem to be many flies. They said there had never been a fly issue before. Apart from that 2 very lovely hosts and a lovely home to rent . It is in the middle of nowhere so be mindful of that. Internet strength was at times poor and unable to watch Netflix for example. Very welcoming hosts.
We would highly recommend staying at Monkleigh Hill! We were received by Julia who gave us a walk around the place. Julia was a wonderful and very helpful host. The house was very clean, tidy and homely. The hot tub was wonderful and perfect for star gazing at night. We really enjoyed our stay and is a perfect place whether its rainy or sunny.
Alexandra
We enjoyed our stay at the Mill immensely. Wonderful hosts and great facilities! The house is so interesting and we love the open plan kitchen dining. Upstairs shows off a lovely view of the surrounding fields and the hot tub is a wonderful bonus. Good location with lots of little villages around with Cafes and restaurants
Beautiful accommodation in an idyllic setting so a great place to relax and get around from. We had fairly dreadful weather so this was particularly important. Highly recommended.
Stephen
Superb property, Set amongst, and located in a very peaceful and relaxing area, as one would generally expect in this part of Devon ! With plenty of Wildlife !! Finding the location is somewhat more difficult, My Car SAT NAV. navigated us directlly there, through somewhat very narrow hedgerow lanes However, you wouldnt really know youd arrived, because the Property has no Name plate or inscription, we continued to the next village and spent another hour or so eventually arriving at Monkleigh Mill. Unfortunately we didnt get to meet The owners, Julia & Paul, who were away on Holiday themselves they had provided written directions directions ariving from the East M5A39 but we discovered far better easier access to the property the next day ! This is not a critism! just a little informative feedback.
Murshed
My family and I had a lovely break here, it was so peaceful and everyone was very accommodating. The place was well equipped with necessities and was very clean. Cannot wait to return!
Rosemary
Julia and Paul very friendly and helpful. Appreciated Paul's offer of a lift to and from the local pub. Excellent kitchen facilities, and bedrooms being on the ground floor were pleasantly cool and comfortable. No TV remote in one of the bedrooms, although not a problem for us. Sofas in the sitting area were not very comfortable. We enjoyed the patio area and barbecue and appreciated the silence of the location.
