A well kept lodge with decent facilities in an excellent countryside location. Slightly tricky to find, but we liked that it was off the beaten track. Very peaceful and couldn't really hear any noise from the other nearby lodges. The seaside town of Llansteffan is just a few miles down the road and has a fantastic quiet beach and a castle, with all the local car parks being free of charge. Would definitely return.

Merlin Hill Centre is a working dairy farm located deep in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Although not a petting farm the farm is still very family friendly with plenty of fun activities to keep children happy. The farm has a good sized play area and plenty of picnic tables as well as a Farmyard Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Welsh farm life and about the mystical Legend of Merlin. Get there early if you want to watch the cows being milked!

They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn. Pembroke Castle is thought to be the birthplace of the Tudor dynasty and is an excellent choice for a family day trip. The castle one of the areas most iconic landmarks and features an amazing 75ft high Great Tower! Visitors can also take a tour of the Norman Hall and the Exhibition Rooms where the displays change regularly. There is also a Picnic area and plenty of open space for children to run around in the grounds and gardens. The site also has a cafe and a gift shop.
