Bwthyn Eisteddfa Fach Reviews

If you are looking for a spacious cottage with an amazing view this is the one. Light and airy, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Dog friendly, safe garden and an amazing hot tub makes this the perfect holiday cottage. We visited LlysyFran for a fabulous day out, lake so beautiful and we also enjoyed Poppit Sands. Thank you Rhian and Matt for your hospitality and letting us share your fantastic property. We will definitely return.
The cottagebarn conversion was lovely and the bed we slept in was probably the most comfortable ever. It was amazingly quiet and was the most relaxing holiday weve ever had. There were however a few things niggled me somewhat. We have been using Sykes Cottages for our holidays for many years and have stayed in some amazing places and maybe this has spoiled us. I love cooking while we are on holiday and always choose the place based on the look of the kitchen strange but true. I was really disappointed in the lack of kitchen items provided only two saucepans, two egg cups and six teaspoons. While there was a nice welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk and wine, the property lacked basic things like soap in the bathroom and toilet paper. This has to be the least well equipped property we have stayed in which was disappointing. On saying this, we were still contemplating booking another holiday here until the morning of check out. We had received a message from the owner to check out for 1000 and to strip the beds nothing unusual. However, the owners turned up at 955 and started stripping the place out before we had even left. I found this extremely rude considering we were only having a coffee before we left and we were still within the timeframe. As much as this is a minor thing, add this to the other minor things we decided that we would not be returning to the property.
Jennifer
A really lovely place to stay, owners were really helpful, beautiful view and situation. As advertised. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
Joanne
The cottage was lovely. Extremely clean. We do not have a dog and you would not know this is a dog friendly cottage, as theres no hair etc anywhere. But does have a good secure garden if you do have a dog. The hot tub was great, the beds are very comfortable, and its a great location. The children loved all the animals we saw including lambs, a cat, chickens and the lovely dog, Mac. I would highly recommend this cottage.
Jennifer
What a wonderful place! The kitchen is stocked with everything you could ever need. Very comfy beds, hot tub is huge! Stunning views kitchen and hotub. I highly recommend this accommodation and if I'm ever back in Pembrokeshire I will definitely stay here.
Gareth
This was our 2nd stay during Christmas week and was another amazing experience it felt like a home from home! The owners put up decorations and a Christmas tree which was so lovely and the children were amazed when they walked in
Debbie
This is a very well presented place. Lovey and the owners are very nice . Their dog Mac is lovely and came to see us every day with his ball . Which was lovely as we lost our dog couple of months before . The hot tub was really nice after a day out walking . Would love to book again x thanks for having us
We've had a wonderful stay in Bwthyn Eisteddfa Fach and would highly recommend it. We went as a family of 6 4 adult Children and a dog. There was plenty of space for us all and the property was really well equipped. We loved sitting in the dinning area to eat breakfast each morning whilst soaking in the views. We also really enjoyed our evening dips in the hot tub. The garden was enclosed and secure enough for our dog, and we had regular visits from Mac the farm dog, who was really friendly. The owners Rhian and Matt were attentive and friendly, and only next door if we needed them, but left us to our own privacy during the week. Loads to do in the area... pretty beaches, countryside walks, historic sites, a reservoir down the road for water sports etc. We didn't get round everything so now need to go back to this part of Pembrokeshire, and definitely wouldn't hesitate to book the same property again!
Beautiful property in a beautiful location. All home comforts were here, ideal for a family to relax after a days exploring.
Thomas
Lovely cottage in a fantastic location with great hosts
Had a great week, lovely comfortable cottage with great facilities and amazing views. Highly recommend, would love to come back.
Claire
We had a lovely stay here. Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location, just what we needed. Spotlessly clean with a well maintained hot tub which was lovely after a day out walking. Close to Newport pembs and Cardigan. Great places to visit included llys y fran reservoir and for food was pizzatipi in Cardigan both dog friendly.
Denise
Wonderful hosts of a beautiful, well appointed cottage, lots of opportunity to walk locally and further afield. Hot tub was very welcome at the end of a long day.
The property is lovely and comfortable super beds! and well positioned for visiting the beaches and other attractions of the region. The hot tub was a great addition too after a busy day out walking etc . In an ideal world another bathroom loo would be appreciated when the cottage is at capacity but this didnt affect our enjoyment of a super week. Many thanks.
Christine
We had a very comfortable and restful week at the cottage. The views were outstanding and the cottage had everything we needed for our stay. We would thoroughly recommend!
Kirsty
The owner gave us a friendly welcome, and the cottage was spotless when we arrived with a welcome pack which included milk, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine, the cottage feels like it is in the middle of nowhere, and you do have to drive to get anywhere, but this mean you get fantastic views especially when sat in the lovely hot tub, and a peaceful nights sleep in some very comfortable beds, Newport just down the road 15 mins which has plenty of places to choose to eat we really like the castle inn, a spar shop that sold everything and when the tide is out a lovely beach. Would definitely recommend staying here, thank your for having us we had a lovely relaxing week.
We had a fantastic stay. It was the perfect place for us to relax. The house was clean, well looked after and there was plenty of space for us all. The views were beautiful, the hot tub was enjoyed by all, and to top it all off we had visits from the lovely Mac!
This was our second stay and w love fit as much as we did the first time. Everything you need in one place and if you venture out there is countryside and coastline for miles and miles. The property is fantastic cosy, comfortable, clean and the hot tub is just pure luxury! Thank you for having us back
A beautiful cottage. So clean and well presented. We loved the hot tub and the gorgeous views.
Gareth
Well what can I say about this amazing cottage! We loved every second of our stay the property is immaculately presented and it was obvious every little detail had been thought of. The kitchen has every utensil and crockerycutlery you would ever need with plenty of plates etc. All furnishings are of high quality the beds are extremely comfortable as well. The living area is cosy and the log burner was amazing it was lit the whole time we were there it also has under floor heating so you will always feel warm and toasty. The surrounding area has everything you would expect with villages and main towns to visit and the beach is perfect in every way. The views at the property are also incredible we have already booked our next visit!! Thankyou to the owners for taking such good care of us and we also loved our visits from Mac their lovely and friendly dog
The cottage was amazing very clean and comfortable. The only thing we weren't happy about is that we had this cottage as it was a safe garden for our dog as she doesn't like other dogs.the owners dog has got a gap in the hedge that he gets through so we had to keep a constant look out when our dog was out, we had told the owners she didn't mix but the dog still come in the garden .
We had a fantastic stay, the cottage was lovely and warm and had plenty of space for us all. We really enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor space, despite the weather, the views were amazing and made it very relaxing. We could not fault the hosts, they were friendly and accomodating and left us to get on with our holiday, the visitor welcome pack was an added bonus and we also enjoyed our daily visits from Mac the dog! The cottage had everything that we needed, our only request would be to have a non slip bath mat for when using the shower. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning, maybe at a different time of year to really make the most of the outside space.
Great place to relax and explore the countryside and surrounding areas
Patricia
Great place to stay, lovely hottub, lots of space, great location to visit Pembrokeshire
Deborah
A really lovely property and the ideal size and location for our family and dog! Property was clean, the owners introduced themselves on the first day but we're not at all intrusive, and the area was just stunning. Would definitely return thank you for a wonderful holiday.
Hayley
This is a beautiful property perfectly situated for a relaxing holiday. Its extremely well presented, spotlessly clean, spacious, yet cosy. The owners are extremely helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful fortnight here. The house has beautiful views of the Preseli Hills and the setting means you're in the heart of one of the prettiest parts of rural Pembrokeshire. The house is spacious, comfortable and modern inside. Ideally, it would have another loo, so it could be a bit of a stretch for six people, but certainly fine for four. We have a terrier who made friends with the neighbouring owners' charming sheepdog, Mac. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and are on hand if you need them. The dog walking and cycling is extensive, first class and on the doorstep. You do need to be quite fit though, as there are few horizontal surfaces in this part of Wales. The nearby Gwaun Valley is particularly charming and features a very quirky pub. Both Newport and Cardigan are within 20 minutes' drive, and, along with the usual amenities, now offer some excellent restaurants too. If you are looking for somewhere tranquil and rural, and don't need to be on top of the beaches, this would be an excellent choice.
We had a lovely week. The cottage is lovely and the views are outstanding. We also enjoyed using the hot tub. My only criticism is the fact that there is only one toiletbathroom. We were a group of ladies and whilst we managed it would have been good to have at least one other toilet. As a fairly new conversion it's a shame that one wasn't put in at the time. Also it would be good to have some more crockery provided. But none of these issues deflected from our stay. It was a lovely week and a great place to spend my birthday.
Beautiful location. The cottage was lovely. Nice touch with the welcoming pack of items. The property owner was very welcoming and gave us some tips on where to visit in the area. Great location to see the beauty of Pembrokeshire. Views of the hills and sheep while having breakfast. We had a great week of relaxing and also exploring this wonderful area. Hope to come back one day.
Lovely accommodation, in a beautiful setting. All you needed for a perfect get away. Home from home comforts, from the comfortable beds to the brilliant hot tub. Friendly helpful hosts and plenty of interesting walks and places to visit, a place you can really relax and unwind.
We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay at this property. It was comfortable, clean, warm and spacious offering everything we needed. The owners were friendly and on hand if we needed anything witihout been intrusive. The location was great for exploring the local area and the view from the property was amazing with he most amazing weather to sit and watch beyond the immediate garden there were sheep, lambs and daffodils all very Welsh and the potential of the springtime arriving. The weather was sp changeable but offered fabulous skies days and night. We saw misty mountains, sun broken streaming through clouds, starlit skies and a double rainbow! The owners dog Mac was a funny welcome visitor and offered a great painting opportunity for an artist who revelled in the great natural light opportunity the dining room offered. Thanks for a holiday we will always remember.
Lovely place to stay and a beautiful home. Large spacious rooms. The owners were just on the end of a text but left us to get on with the holiday. Loved our visits from their family dog it really made our grandaughters holiday. The welcome milk tea and coffee was a lovely touch, oh and the welshcakes of course. It was a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the view. The log fire was lovely, although the house was well heated with underfloor heating downstairs. We will definitely be going back.
Patrick
The owners, Matt and his wife, were very friendly and supportive and made our stay just relaxing and comfortable. Thank you for the nice stay.
Steven
Absolutely beautiful property. So spacious and decorated to a high standard. The log burner is just perfect it gives off so much heat. Beds super comfy. Kitchen very well equipped with everything you might need. Very minor point they could do with a few hooks outside on the wall to hang towels while using the hot tub. All in all a beautiful stay at a beautiful property. Thank you.
An absolutely lovely place, very comfortable with all the facilities you need, comes complete with a couple of dogs one who never tires of playing ball. The location is wonderful with superb views over moors and hills. A good place to be a base, lots of places to visit with 45 mins drive or you can just cosy up and stay home. Wed love to visit again in the summer.
Angela
Beautiful holiday home with plenty of room inside and also outside space. Ideal place for complete relaxation and has wonderful views from the rear. However, hesitant to leave our dog in the garden without being fastened, as he could easily have crawled under the gate to the sheep field.
Teresa
Had a lovely week. Everything was spotless and comfortable. Great base to get to some nearby attractions including the Dinosaur Park and Clerkenhill adventure park. Tenby was great too. The hot tub was great in the evenings and the peace and quiet was very welcome for the week. Would totally recommend it
We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful cottage! It is clean, well equipped and has amazing views of the Preseli Hills. The hot tub was a bonus too. We highly recommend staying here and hope to come back ourselves one day too.
Susanne
Simply wonderful! The perfect place to celebrate my 60th birthday with family. Immaculate and spacious with superb views and walks we especially enjoyed the hot tub which was cleaned regularly. The daily visits from the dogs were an extra delight! Would thoroughly recommend.
