6 Badgers Retreat Reviews

Melanie
Great Lodge to stay in, peaceful and clean. Beds were super comfy, and the jacuzzi was a nice treat. Was kind enough for Tony & Liesel to leave us milk, tea sugar coffee and few snacks. Great Lodge and will defiantly be back next time we visit North Yorkshire
Lovely stay
Caroline
This was our second visit to No. 6 Badgers Retreat and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay once again. The lovely owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, even a much appreciated pint of milk in the fridge for a cuppa on arrival and a little treat tray!

Had a very relaxing and comfortable week at Badgers Retreat. Would definitely book again. The lodge was warm and spotlessly clean with everything we needed. Cheryl

This is a quaint park and in a lovely area. The Lodge was well equipped with everything that we needed. It does need a bit of TLC but nothing much really. The ensuite was full of dead bugs on the floor and in the shower tray which looked like they had been there a while. The outside area was full of cobwebs which i know this happens at this time of the year but again you could tell they had been there a while. The hot tub requires maintenance as the head pillows were hanging off and some of the jets fell out when you turned the bubbles on.
Very nice 4 night break lodge was more than we expected clean good condition ... Very nice 4 night break lodge was more than we expected clean good condition great location Nice little welcome pack so you could make a cuppa straight away Bed very comfy nice big bath Hot tub was all ready to get straight in Lovely walking area for the dog Cattrick town only 5 minutes away in the car Again very nice break

What a lovely relaxing place. Beautiful property, well equipped and maintained. Everything we needed, including hot tub, for a lovely anniversary weekend. Owner was very thoughtful with the welcome basket and the home was very comfortable, especially the beds. Spotlessly clean, home from home for 4 nights.
A lovely location, everything you need is in the property. Spotless and the hot tub was the icing on the cake Would recommend it and will be returning
Beautiful location, very peaceful and relaxing and having the hot tub made this break extra special. Great walks on your doorstep. I would highly recommend and will be returning in the future
Well this is ok for the owner to visit but not to rent out. In some areas of the cabin mainly the main bedroom and especially the ensuite. Stains on the bed cannot be missed with an unexpected sponge mattress. The shower door hanging off, and mould all around the framework. The TV was old we had to sort the coaxial to get a reception. Could not get Netflix or connect a firestick to get our Netflix etc. We had a message to say there was a welcoming pack as we paid nearly double the normal price for 3 nights we expected more than 4 tea bags, 2 pints of milk and a small box of biscuits. Also 3 toilet rolls for 4 adults for 3 nights 1 bin bag. The hot tub was ok but needs servicing as only a few jets worked at the same time. No towels also for the hot tub.

Had such a wonderful relaxing time with family. Perfect tranquil location and ideal for your four legged friends.
Really good stay during October. Everything was clean and comfortable. Owners were attentive when we couldn't turn on the heating when we arrived and helped us quickly. The park is very quiet.

The lodge was lovely and clean. The lounge is a very good size and the kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub was hot and decorated with what I call Christmas type lights, which can be switched on if wanted. Which other hots tubs are usually in darkness. The only thing I had trouble with was with directions in finding Badger Retreat. The sat nav took us through a back way through a farm private lane. Better directions would be appreciated
It's the first time we have stayed in lodge accommodation and we loved it. The site is well laid out and extremely quiet. We were lucky to see a number of young deer in the garden. The location is great, very central to many lovely towns and places of interests. Lots of wonderful dog walks in the area. The accommodation was perfect for us, but was just looking a bit tired in places. However that would not stop us returning. We loved it.
Christine
The property worked fine for me and Dad. If we had been two couples the second bedroom would have been a bit cramped with very little space to walk around the end of the bed. Also, there were no drawers in that bedroom but plenty of hanging space. The main bedroom has a lot of drawers but little hanging space. Otherwise the property was great with a well appointed kitchen, bathroom and ensuite. The WiFi was very good, once wed got the passwordcan only assume it had been removed by accident and it was quickly supplied. We didnt try out the hot tub. Maybe next time.
Claire
Beautiful lodge, very clean and the beds were comfy.
Caroline
We had never had a Lodge holiday before and after our first experience, we loved it! The Lodge itself was superb, and very welcoming with little extras left for us by the owners, which were much appreciated, thank you! Everything we needed was at hand. The hot tub which was set up and ready for us on arrival was a real treat and so relaxing after a long day exploringtravelling. There were plenty of lovely scenic views to take in and the site was very well maintained Perfect for some relaxing time away with a short drive to the nearest shops and local attractions. We have already recommended to family members and are hoping to return some time soon. Caroline Mum with three daughters of various ages

Had a lovely few days, lodge getting ready for a up date! decking and kitchen area. Dishwasher in place of the washer would be nice. Tony the owner was very quick to respond to hot tub issue. Very quiet well kept site, nice cut dog walking area.
We had a great time. Everything we needed was available especially the hot tub which was the main reason for choosing 6 badgers retreat. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Thank you
Maureen
Loved the holiday property comfy beds brilliant shower and nice area. Hot tub brilliant for us thank you for a lovely stay.
Michael
Lovely property on a nice quiet site. Its well equipped. It has a lovely spacious living area and theres plenty storage in bedrooms and a great hot tub would definitely recommend would definitely go back again
Nice, spacious, clean and cosy cabin.
Muriel
Lovely, clean, comfortable property. Had everything we actually needed. Might be worth recommending people take enough food supplies to get them through the first evening fortunately we were prepared. 5 pm check in was inconvenient especially in the winter months when it is pitch dark when you arrive having to drive along a narrow, single track, not very well lit road to get there. Very nice area of the country to explore. Some lovely country towns. Local pubs and cafes usually very dog friendly & the people very welcoming. Would consider staying again.
Great stay in a lovely lodge. Very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
The accommodation was great including, bedding, towels, and kitchen equipment. The heating was great. Cosy sitting area comfy beds and good to have two bathrooms so each couple had there own space. The hot tub was lovely. The actual area is so quite and peaceful but within a short drive of nice places to visit and do any necessary shopping. The four of us would all book again just the problem of only having so much holiday to take.
We spent a lovely weekend at 6 Badgers Retreat! The lodge is fabulous and is set in a beautiful, peaceful location yet is close to lots of local amenities. The lodge offered everything we needed for a comfortable weekend with the hot tub being an added bonus. The location meant that we were able to explore both the Yorkshire Dales and the contrasting North Yorkshire Moors. We will definitely look to return!
The villa is very comfortable and well equipped, this a returning visit and maybe back again
A clean tidy Lodge with all you need for your Holiday We happy that the barrier no longer in action so were able to enter before 5pm as this is later than other places we have stayed in. It would have nice to have known this.We were unlucky in as our heating failed on day 2 of 4 which left us very cold as the weather changed and with no owner contact details in the key box as stated
We had a lovely stay here, nice and clean, would definitely come back.
Beautiful comfy lodge in a beautiful quiet setting, just what we needed. The setting was amazing to sit in the hot tub and just chill. My dog loved the dog walk area . It is a drive to go to surrounding beauty spots but it's so worth it to get back to the peace.
We had a great 5 night stay at 6 Badgers Retreat . The lodge is perfect, very clean, very comfortable, everything you need and the welcome pack was a nice surprise. The area is very quiet and peaceful but you also have Aldi and Tesco just up the road at Catterick Garrison. I would also recommend The Farmers Arms and The Hollyhill Inn for a lovely pub meal. One very small recommendation would be to have a cover over the hot tub as we couldn't use it when it rained. But we still had a lovely time.
Kieran
What a lovely place to stay and just switch off, the accommodation was very comfortable, well serviced and very quiet, just what I wanted All in all, we had an excellent time away and were able to completely switch off from the trials and tribulations of normal life. Will definetly book again.
Thank you very much for the welcome basket. It was very useful. Lovely comfortable stay.
Rosemary
Lovely place and good value for money.
I thought that maybe a coffee table would come in handy
Lovely property on a very quiet site. Enjoyed seeing the lambs, rabbits, pheasants and a couple of deer around the site. Good location with local shops 5 minutes away and Richmond 10 minutes. Property was well equipped with all the home from home comforts the only thing missing was some egg cups and a toast rack. We didnt get to use the hot tub due to the weather, but it could do with being made a little more private. Overall it was a good place to stay and we would recommend. Thank you.
The lodge was beautiful! The retreat was very quiet and peaceful. The beds were incredibly comfortable and when we arrived there was facilities to make a brew and settle in. First impressions were great! The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is we could have done with bin bags and toilet roll. The internet and TV in the main living area worked intermittently and the TV in the bedroom I couldn't get to work at all but these are only minor things. The owner was friendly and communication was good. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others for sure!
Lovely place and communication great. Hot tub was cold on arrival so first night we couldn't use it. Its also not very private with viewings going on above looking down. The extractor hood didn't work. I did notice there were a lot of cobwebs in the property which was mentioned on another review. The area has nothing. You can't safely walk to a pub. So of you want absolutely nothing then its good. We got a little bored. Beds comfy. WiFi good. Hottub nice once hot. Just dropped 2 stars for the location and cobwebs.
Charlotte
Really enjoyed this getaway. Ideal for a quiet break. Would love to go back again.

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
